I've met men who act like Kilgrave, who are manipulative, obsessive, narcissistic, and cruel. To see it portrayed so effectively on a show about superheroes is truly unsettling.

I was hoping to see Aaron Eckharts performance as Two Face, and Cillian Murphys performance as Scarecrow on here. Both are criminally underrated and unappreciated.

Anthony Starr seems to be very friendly and chill in person, which makes his chilling performance as Homelander all the more effective.

I especially love it when DC villains are portrayed as dark and cruel. Not only does it really capture the tone of DC comic, but it distinguishes them from Marvel villains

Homelander is the perfect metaphor for how one’s humanity and pride can destroy them with enough power and responsibility

Paul Dano was perfect as the Riddler and the best character in the batman movie, IMO

I do agree that Heath Ledger is the number one for the darkest supervillain. His verson of the Joker is manipulative, intimidating, and unpredictable. He also responsible for turning Harvey into Two-face after Rachel’s murder. I feel Willem Dafoe should be higher on the list. His verson of the Green Goblin is great. I enjoyed his return in no way home. He is responsible for the death of Aunt May, and almost pushed Peter to kill him. He also had many great quotes.

I loove Michael Fassbender as Magneto! Huge Magneto fan. The high evolutionary's treatment of animals made it hard to sit thru Guardians 3. Ozymandias' portrayal was spot on from the comic.

Chukwudi Iwuji's High Evolutionary, brings an unprecedented amount of menace to the latest volume by harboring a cruel, twisted survival-of-the-fittest mindset to his grand plan. There have been a string of great antagonists in the MCU - from the brutal Killmonger to the tragic Gorr the God Butcher - but what makes High Evolutionary so compelling is his pure, unfiltered obsession with "perfecting" the universe in his image. This is not a villain with superpowered abilities, but a hyper-intelligent man who uses his gifts to twisted ends, playing god with an utter disregard for his creations. Utopia is but a myth, no matter how well-intentioned a creator might be, but in High Evolutionary's hands, the concept mutated like a monstrous organism, birthing societies that were destroyed on a whim, or allowed to evolve unchecked. As expected, chaos ensued. Gunn actively avoids this by painting High Evolutionary as a straight-cut villain with a thoroughly evil penchant to play god - at one point, he even viciously spits out "god isn't real," saying that this triggered his need to step in instead. This is a man with a dangerous ego, who wants to create intelligent societies but fears they might surpass his intellect at the same time. This explains why he viewed Rocket's attempts to help him in his breakthrough as an act of defiance instead of a marker of success. High Evolutionary cares about nothing and no one except the need to satiate his ego, to the point that even his most loyal minions turn against him toward the end. There is no glimmer of regret, or the need to slow down and ruminate either. High Evolutionary is dangerously committed to his cause and is willing to cut down anyone in his path. His scene with Rocket is equal parts of fascination and disgust, as we see him create and recreate the twisted ‘80s Amblin Spielberg suburbia meets Planet of the Apes city known as “Counter-Earth” and only want Rocket for purpose of perfecting the universe in the face of imperfection, we see how the High Evolutionary is inferior because he can’t seem to recognize that he created intelligent life, and to see his creation surpass his own genius enrages him and takes it out on poor Rocket. I’ve never rooted so hard to see a villain lose so hard.

Not sure about the rest of these actor portrayals, but Danny DeVito DEFINITELY nailed the Penguin in Batman Returns. One particularly memorable line from DeVito's portrayal was when he asked "Why is there ALWAYS someone who brings egg and tomatoes to a speech?!" after Bruce Wayne(aka Batman) and Alfred out him.

At the same time, he can turn into a raging and psychotic man who will brutally decapitate a henchman for *embarrassing* him

As much as I love Heath ledger as the joker, Danny devito's portrayal as Penguin is definitely my all time favorite supervillain performance. I don't think anyone could ever play this role. Batman returns is so rewatcheable because of him.

Gotham had some of the best supervillains. Jerome is in my top 3 favorite live action Jokers. And Penguin in Gotham WOW!!! I never liked the penguin but Gotham's penguin is one of the best characters I've ever seen.

The problem with Ozymandias is knowing that the great evil he was committing wasn't to rule the world or solely to frame his friend, or even chaos for the sake of it. He was creating a common enemy that the world must unite against so the global superpowers didn't kick off a nuclear war. Killed millions to the remaining billions.

Yes, Heath Ledger's Joker is my personal favorite and way above other villain portrayals. He's not overrated. I will never forget years ago when i watched the Dark Knight in cinema with my bestfriend 2 days before my board exams (to de-stress). Worst decision ever! I will never forget that feeling. While in cinema engrossed by his performance terrified and amazed at the same time the whole cinema was so quiet during his monologue. Then that 'Why so serious' scene, without saying a word, my bestfriend and I look at each other, shook with goose bumps all over. Oh my gosh i will never forget that experience! My mind was so F up after the movie that for almost a day a couldn't concentrate and i forgot everything I studied for months! Like blown out the windows! Good thing i still passed that exams.😅 So just imagine our heartaches with what happened to Heath after that.
