Found it 😊. Loved this Shawn. Some great choices. Just two from Clifford? That was a surprise 😂

Great list, Shawn! It's got me thinking about some of the books here I haven't read yet...

Thanks Aaron. I have too many unread books and too many to reread.

Found this video through a share by BookTimeWithElvis. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on why these books made your list. I’ve read a few of them, but classics are definitely not my area of expertise. I’ve subscribed and am wishing you a gazillion more. :)

I've just finished all the jeeves and wooster books and can totally understand the challenge in picking out one specifically! I loved them.

My list would look very different. I’m wanting to read Germinal this year. A Christmas Carol is a favorite. Dune would definitely be on my list. Yes! Les Miserables! 😊

If I did have to pick a Zola now I think it would be Germinal. I so want to get back to reading the novel series of his.

Pleasantly surprised to have C.P. Snow's Light and Dark on the list or to have read him. It's rare on youtube for anyone to talk about his books. I've read half of the Strangers and Brothers books, but Light and Dark is the only one I've reread. Roy Calvert, fascinating character.

Last year I started a reread of Strangers but got sidetracked because I had to move. I've read the series five plus times.

@@ShawnDStandfast Maybe this year I will read it all. Wonderful books.

@@LibroParadiso-ep4zt I wanted to finish my reread this year but it's looking less likely I will as the year rolls on. If I wait too long I'll have to start again. Not a big deal if I do.

@@ShawnDStandfast Have you made a video discussing the books? I think many readers haven't read his books. Personally I've lead Light and Dark to two people and both became admirers of the writer. And they too had never heard of him even though they are literary. He's a name that's fallen out of fashion.
@ShawnDStandfast2 ай бұрын
@@LibroParadiso-ep4zt I have a playlist for those I read last year.

I agree that Les Miserables is the best novel of all time! Dune is my favorite, but Victor Hugo was such a great writer. I also liked Toilers of the Sea by Hugo.
@ShawnDStandfast2 ай бұрын
I've not yet read Toilers. I have a copy yet to be unpacked. That and a few others I need to get to.

"Top 20 books of all time" - well, that there be fightin' talk, pardner, appropriate for June on the Range....
@ShawnDStandfast2 ай бұрын
So does that mean you will do your own list?
@heathergregg99752 ай бұрын
@@ShawnDStandfast a reasonable assumption - but I haven't read enough fiction to make such a list. I tend to read nonfiction. However, I think you may find a redhot message on your computer from a Mr Donoghue in Boston enquiring what you mean by disregard all other lists???-)
