Actually since he's the producer as well as the star, he gets final say on what stunts he does. He in fact fired an insurance company because they wouldn't cover one of his stunts. Actors can't do that. Only producers can... unless the actor IS the producer.

There’s videos on this. They constructed a 100 ft hallway rotated by multiple motors. The reason the camera doesn’t move while JGL is fighting is because it is strapped to the floor. Giving a set perspective
@Axolotl_Mischief
@Axolotl_Mischief 3 жыл бұрын
@@WithWizMedia Yup. It's been covered before, not unlike the bullet time fx in the Matrix. Still impressive, however. The rig they built around the hallway was massive. Always love when directors anchor a camera, but manipulate the set independently. Such a cool-looking effect.

As far as the Vanilla Sky one, you can actually sorta recreate it as I discovered one fun night in NY. I hadn't realized that I couldn't get a train back between 4 and 6am. So I wandered around and eventually found myself in Times Square...alone! Well there were a few people, maintenance people, cleaning up the area and some bodegas were open. But I sat alone at a table in the middle of an almost silent Times Square and drank a beer because in NY you can buy beer anytime apparently. It was a Saturday morning in late February, but you too can have Times Square practically to yourself!

If you make another one of these lists, you really should put the running mirror transformation scene from Contact with Jodie Foster into it. I've never been able to find a video or post on how they did it, maybe I didn't look hard enough. I really think it belongs on this list, but I'm not the one making it. I'm sure some CGI was used, but it's a older film so who knows. If it was done practically, it definitely deserves more recognition than it gets.
