Is it wrong for somebody to sell cards of a player that is recently deceased?

In a way, yes. People are selling to profit off the hype of his death which is wrong. If they had the listing up before then no I don't think that's wrong but if you go and jack the price up then yes that is wrong. It's a sticky situation because if people need money and they see these cards selling for ridiculous amounts of money then I think you should sell to get the money. But if you have money and you're just being greedy then that is morally wrong I feel. I'm still in shock to even think about which cards to sell or buy whether it be Kobe or anyone else.

@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR I've been collecting since I was in 5th grade 32 years old now mainly Kobe Bryant rookie over 200+ of him.. but other great players as well kind of debating if I should sell because the prices are crazy high but I know it's sad what happened to him and his daughter my wife and I are having an girl on the way we're going to name her after Kobe Bryant's daughter Gianna!.. thinking about putting cards on eBay today as a huge bulk lot of Kobe Bryant rookie graded and non non-graded but excellent condition and double sleeve protective plastic holder let me know your thinking imma regular person with regular money in life

@@daniel.gthepainter1512 For sure man, sell some now. I wouldn't list them all in one lot because they will sell individually very easily. Try to put a couple up at buy it now or best offer and see what happens. You might sell a bunch like that and keep the others. I would say to start with the lower end stuff first. Keep the higher end cards and any of them that may have sentimental value. If you getting ready to have a child, the smart thing to do would be to sell for sure. Like I said though, start with the lower end stuff because everything is selling well above market value ( I've seen cards up by 300% what they were selling a week ago. Save the big-ticket cards for later but the lower end stuff sell and get you a nice nest egg. That's what I would do if I were you. 👍

I have a closet dedicated to them. They are kept in boxes inside of totes. The higher end ones are kept in a large thick heavy safe. Lol.

It wasn’t at the time of making this video. They were about even with the Credentials having the upper hand because it is serial numbered. The Chrome refractor definitely took 1st place after the tragedy though.

If you have the Topps Chrome base card then it's pretty valuable. They sell for good money. Check the prices on eBay.

i think its because his early years as a player was also during the waning years of sports cards collecting and many people have been out of the hobby since, many only returning recently. i def expect those population of graded cards to start increasing because you know theres no way those numbers are at all reflective of the actual amount of these produced

Yeah, almost everyone Kobe Bryant collector will have a similar story. His prices went through the roof after the recent tragedy. It’s utterly insane how the market reacted.

Yes, they will always be valuable. Now is not the time to buy though. I would wait another week or two to let the market cool down. I was buying before his passing and stopped due to the crazy competition and sky high prices but they will cool back down.

If it doesn’t shine like a rainbow when you tilt it in light the it’s the base card but still very valuable. I have a video up on how to submit to Psa go check it out on my channel.
