Top 20 Mods that Make Minecraft Survival Even Better! [1.16.5][Forge]

These where tested on Minecraft 1.16.5 using Forge, and will add some new locations, mechanics, mobs and more! Even though some of these files say 1.16.4 or something in the file name, they all work for 1.16.5!

A word of warning to anyone who installs Improved Mobs with the Epic Fight Mod: the two combine into a very hardcore system. I had a Enderman not only spawn trap me in my set world point but literally drop out of nowhere like a ninja and snap my neck repeatedly, I mean not literally even though it felt like that but just one or two shots by back attacking. Seriously it is just under "Epic Seige" for a level of difficulty it adds by giving the mobs more combat moves and AI.

I will make a modpack with some of these. They are so interesting and builds are amazing which is surprising cause a lot of structures mods add ugly buildings that are focused on loot only.

hey! thanks for the recomandations. these are pretty great and i picked out a few to add into a minecraft install, and have a really customized experience. A mod like just enough items might be good to have alongside these aswell, as it allows you to see all the craftable items and their recipes, which is sometimes hard to remember while several different mods are installed.

a good combo from these mods is repurposed structures and when dungeons arise. making the overworld plus the nether chuck full of fun ways of getting items and defeating enemies without having to grind! if you have the skill you get the stuff!

Small thing: antiqueatlas has some problems when used with various mods especially if the mod changes weather or season.

not ram only, it needs a good cpu and ram I suggest 16 ram for more than 200 mods and 8 ram for less than 120 more than that might lag a bit

@@user-yl5dn8vy7e its always good to download fps improving mods. for 1.16.5 i use FpsReducer and optifine. But for 1.12 there are lots more options like FoamFix and BetterFps.

Something that isn't talked about enough is how subterranean wilderness also changes cave entrances and "caves" that aren't actually caves but more like mini ravines or just holes in the ground. It's fantastic!

The yellow gloves are actually the exact same texture as the Power gloves from Terraria. Which isn't exactly "Inspiration".

Nice video! Another pretty good survival enhancing mod is "Survival Overhaul" It is pretty much "Tough As Nails" for 1.16.5, but also adds a little addition to the health system

Survive is actually a pretty bad mod, as well as basically just a worse version of Tough As Nails. The stamina bar never increases unless you sleep, and decreases so fast that the game is borderline unplayable.

It's our only MC 1.16 alternative to Tough As Nails atm. The current MC 1.16 version of Tough As Nails only has the thirst feature. And, to be fair, Survive is a new-ish mod (less than a year old) and has been getting many tweaks and updates. You may wanna look up if the version you're using or used is up-to-date. I used to lose stamina more quickly with the early versions. The stamina system seems more balanced now with the latest. I hope to see configurable stamina drain and gain in a future update.

Really? I did test the stamina replenishment and it did increase while standing still, although it was slow. There's an option anyway in the config file where you can disable stamina if it helps!

@@PwrDown It's possible the OP used an earlier version. Made me turn the stamina system off before. Stereowalker has been tweaking and improving the stamina system as people have complained about it, among others. Btw, he just released a new update hours ago. He added a "hygiene system" (+ bath sponges). I wonder how this works.

Even if it is possible to disable in the config file, it's still a very odd thing to have in the base unedited mod.

@@fedghostdedghost Stamina is an important feature of this survival mod. Stereowalker prolly thought the system was fine til he started getting negative feedback. Being able to disable it is nice for those who don't want it, but I'd love to be able to configure the stamina drain/gain as well. Which version have you used exactly? Edit: Rewrote reply. Spice of Life Potato Edition is more fun IMO. You gain bonuses by having a diverse diet but you'll lose them if you stop eating well.

This is so freaking amazing i wanted to make a modpack tho and make my survival makes lots harder.

thats some rare and actual good mods considering 1.16 mods are limited to useless and boring mods, you did a really good job !!

1.16 has some of the most promising mods out there. Just take a look at Create; in my opinion that's the future of modded minecraft. If only Twilight Forest was available for the newest versions...

For 1.16.5 I personally will still be sticking with Tough As Nails as opposed to Survive because I'm one of those that even now in 2022 still mainly plays on 1.12.2 and there it's THE mod lol Awesome video, found 3 new mods for my packs Keep up the amazing vids my dude
