This is something I hope people can understand better: shows/books/movies etc. don't need to continue. We've all seen it, an amazing show or movie that everybody wants more of, only to have a sequel that's just far worse, causing people to care less about said film. While I do agree, I would love to see more from ____, I don't want the masterpiece to have a sequel that makes it look bad.

Honorable mention: Nanami's rage in the lastes Jujutsu Kaisen's episode, it wasn't something grandious or visually stunning but it's always a treat for the eyes seeing the usually calm and collected character loose his cool and go all out against those who harmed his friends. On a side note, Kaneki, Tanjiro and Makoto are all voiced by the same person (Natsuki Hanae)

His rage was hardly quiet, since the pressure of his commitment cracked the anti-magic mask he inherited from Shizu he was wearing at the time (an Anime/Manga graphic trick not to have mar his beautiful face with the fury he was feeling) . I'd call it more a frosty, objective-driven rage. He needed at least 10000 souls to evolve into a demon lord to repair his fuck-up and revive his followers after these were slaughtered because of his careless forbidding them to harm humans thinking of the humans of that world (or, you know, just humans) as a breed of saints, having been human in his previous life. I'd say quiet was his rage when fighting against Clayman at the end of S2. His mental states were different in the two happenings, the first was fuelled by regret, the second was simply determination into disposing of a pest that caused the first.

In my humble opinion, the Dub of FMAB kicked the Mustang scene up another level. Mustang's rage, Envy's agonized screams, and Hawkeye's impassioned plea for him to finally stop are heartbreaking.

Can't believe you chose the wrong demon slayer scene, you even had the right arc. His calm rage against Daki scared her so bad she was literally shaking. Shook her down to the cellular level lol. Tanjiro always has empathy for demons but he could not understand Daki's utterly heartless actions and it drove him mad.

The only felt fear from muzans blood memories. But it's ultimately muzans fear coming through. Not of her own. The final fight after tengen lost an arm was what did it for me. But it's subjective and that's the beauty of art.

Though Goku's first transformation into Super Saiyan was iconic, I think Gohan's transformation against Cell was a much better scene. The emotion that Gohan held back and attempted to warn Cell about releasing was awesome. Even as an adult, that scene is one of the most badass scenes in DBZ.

I swear to christ, the English dub of Issei Hyodos juggernaut drive transformation should be here, that scene goes harder than most on the first half of this list I swear. (Also the anime is Highschool dxd, a bit diffcult to get into due to its ecchi nature, but it’s good if you can look past the ecchi stuff.)

For Naruto, my favorite rage moment is obito’s after rin’s death. And for dragon ball, gohan transforming into ssj2 will always be my favorite. Also I don’t think we’ll see a better rage moment than Gon’s for a long time. That shit was raw asf

I think that’s why. There were a lot of rage moments. And I’m sure there was some development of character with each rage moment. But there probably wasn’t a “defining” moment for the character’s story as a whole. A moment that would change the course of the story. Like… maybe a final fight. A real last push that would get Guts the peace that he deserves. Something like that. Lol

Mustang vs Envy, gotta be my top pick. It wasnt 'near defeat and gain 1 last attempt', it was outright blazing rage onto someone basicly defeated already. No 'it is over, i have won', but a sheer ongoing barrage far beyond defeat. I really love FAB and that moment is absolute 1 of the highlights of it, it was no battle.. just a sheer execution out of rage.

wow, the "takamura becomes a monster" line in the Hajime no Ippo scene really shows this guy does his research. a very subtle nod to where the manga is currently at in the story

I really want Tenjou Tenge on a list like this at some point. Very early on, we see the MC on the receiving end of such a rage moment when the he gets a cheap shot in on his opponent, which snaps and rush him down with pure rage.

I think the main problem with Tenjou Tenge was that everyone wanted the dark haired guy as the MC, and when it was revealed that the blonde chump was the MC, most people lost interest.

@@TheAzureblaze What do you mean "revealed"? It was very clear early on. If the dark haired guy(Takayanagi) had been the MC, then the show would have been too standard and forgettable. We have seen those types a lot before and after. Not that many MCs are like the blonde haired one(Souichiro). That many lost interest might be more due to the themes. This is not another "fodder" anime to be consumed during the season and then forgotten. It is a rather adult show, and the manga even more so, to the point that a lot was cut out and toned down for the anime. Maybe that was also why some people lost interest. It was not as "real" as the manga.

I think mustangs number one rage scene was against lust but his fight against envy also merits a number 1 spot. It was so satisfying to see these humunculi brought low by the very thing they hate and hold in utter contempt, a human.

I would have to disagree on the battle on Lust being the best on rage because for the Envy one, Roy had a personal vendetta for the lost of his best friend and rival due to envy being the one that killed him and plus envy using the faces of those close to him makes Roy rage on even more as him doing that sullies the people Roy knows and loves.

The rage/not rage in Overlord where Ainz crushes Clementine for killing that adventuring party that he was hanging out with. He might not lose his mind in rage, but there is that moment where he just lets her know that she is insignificant and completely outclassed. Yuji's deaf-mute rage against mahito, mf in that moment fr said "I am you" when he was chasing mahito his silence was really loud, mf even said that his going to kill mahito even if he changes his name, appearance just anything, he doesn't need a reason no more, just silent rage deep within him, that was the coldest moment if jjk. Man we need someone else like Tokyo ghoul. It had good animation, just the right amount of twisted shit happening, and a somewhat good story. Season 3 seemed kind of all weird and rushed though

Addition to Goku vs Frieza, he got pissed because Krillin had already been resurrected by the Dragon Balls once and cannot be once again so he thought he would be gone forever, but as any DB-fan knows, there are more Dragon Balls out there :P

even if is a chinese anime i think fog hill of five elements is missing here, when Wenren Yixuan (Fire) see how Shan Zhu hits his brother and he unleashed all!! amazing animation and moment :D

I’d like to submit my entry for a moment that should have been in this list, and that is Issei Hyodos juggernaut drive transformation in the English dub of Highschool Dxd, because all the English voice actors and the sound designers of that scene were locked in when making that scene.

@@iamgod3224 Yes the anime covered that part. Just nothing after that. So he basically never continued within the manga? The few parts of the Manga I read afterwards didn't have him in it at all.

Not sure if it's a rage moment, been a long time since i last saw it. Ninja Scroll , That anime was insanely brutal when I first saw it. And killing your enemy by head butts till his head is a bloody mess? Freaken epic. Granted nowadays it's easy to find something as brutal but that moment will always be in my memory.

Ichigo wasn't actually the one having the rage moment. He was basically dead and Orihime's plea for help made him give over control to the real Zangetsu (White, or Hollow Ichigo). So what we saw there was actually the true nature of his Zanpakuto and not his rage. If you want Ichigo's rage, then it would be his beatdown of Ginjo, especially with his "Dumbass. That wasn't a Getsuga Tensho. That was the force created by swinging my sword." followed by a purposelly missed Getsuga Tensho and one of Ichigo's coldest lines: "Sorry, I missed. Next time, I won't."
