Beverly Hills Cop is rather conspicuously missing from this list. "The Heat is On", "New Attitude", "Neutron Dance", and especially "Axel F" make this one of the best soundtracks.

Soundtracks =/= score. I haven't watched Transformers, but I know for a fact that the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack is just comprised of the score, which while it still counts, is not the kind of "soundtrack" that most people are colloquially referring to when they talk about movie soundtracks. Usually if they're talking about just the instrumental music composed specifically for the movie, they use the word "score" (even though the score is sometimes also the soundtrack, but not always). Usually "soundtrack" is referring to the collection of needle drops throughout the movie.

@@holty1314 see, those aren't original songs. They weren't written specifically for the movie. Most of them existed when I was a kid. Though, to be fair, there are several films in this list that feature songs that weren't written specifically for those films, either.

Lawrence Kasdan's "The Big Chill" (1983) deserved an honorable mention -- I cannot think of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" or "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" without thinking of this amazing film!

Animal House would be voted the most tasteless musical EVER! Admittedly, Grease could scratch that territory, but absolutely none of the others.

There are so many other movies that didn't make this list that probably deserves at least an honorable mention. Some of my personal favorite soundtracks that weren't on this list are Megamind, The Hangover, Goodfellas, Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Maximum Overdrive, Herbie Fully Loaded.

I’m honestly very disappointed that none of Martin Scorsese’s movies even got an honorable mention. Casino, Goodfellas, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, and even The Irishman all had fantastic soundtracks. The man really knows how to pick his music for his films, and I believe Tarantino cited Scorsese as one of his biggest influences when it comes to music selection.

Just a few that I believe should have been mentioned. Wayne's World, Judgment Night, Empire Records, Dazed and Confused, Batman, Maximum Overdrive, and sorry but Almost Famous should have been higher, and Reservoir Dogs soundtrack was better than Pulp Fiction.

I think this list could be split into two types of movie soundtracks. One list could be one where someone strung together a great mix of music from outside artists for a soundtrack(Ex: the mix of industrial/alt metal for Lost Highway), or a soundtrack mostly composed of original songs for the movie. I personally love all of the music that Eddie Vedder wrote for the Into the Wild soundtrack.

Hello. I live in Brazil and I got to see the movies "Ghost" and "Armageddon" in the USA when I travel to Florida. I think those songs are memorable. As I am 67 yo I always loved the movie Saturday Night Fever and Grease, among a couple of those you chose. Greetings from Brazil!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

The Wedding Singer is my favorite movie, and man, It made me obsessed with the 80s for more than half a decade. I started listening to 80s stations, buying 80s mix cds, ect. Fun fact, there were so many songs IN the wedding singer, they COULD HAVE released a 3rd soundtrack. And no, we didn't want Alexis' version of Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (Though it wasn't bad.) What we really wanted was Adam Sandler's version of You Spin Me Round. I was so disappointing when I heard the original version. I didn't really like it and still don't. But Adam's version is really fun. A few songs on the movie but not on either soundtrack: Don't Stop Believin' (Was played by an orchestra in the movie), Do You Believe In Love?, All Night Long, Jam On It, 99 Luftballoons, and several others.

Do not get me wrong I love most of the soundtrack's that are featured in this list, :-) , And was very impressed to see hear and know The Crow, got into this list which happen's to be one of my all time fav soundtrack's and film's, But I was seriously disappointed to not see The Lost Boy's, soundtrack and Dirty Dancing, soundtrack to name but a few make it into this list, :-( , Going back to The Crow, I would of more than likely had it at number one myself rather than number 19, :-) .

It's really funny to me that you put The Bodyguard on here, because I just watched it for the first time this morning expecting an amazing soundtrack but there was nothing, nothing, nothing to like until the full circle cover of And I Will Always Love You. I will agree with the picks of Drive, Trainspotting, Pulp Fiction, The Graduate, and Shrek though.

while watching this video countdown, I was starting to get concerned that Saturday Night Fever was not getting included. But alas, finally seeing it at #1 was no surprise. That soundtrack had songs on charts for over a year, and half of that time at #1.

Top Gun is the only soundtrack on this list that would even make my top 10.......where are Flashdance, Rocky IV, Footloose, St. Elmo's Fire? Every one of these classics eats this list for breakfast. I mean that caringly. Still love you WatchMojo.

I’m really fond of the Rocky IV soundtrack, the main events are the released singles from it, being Burning Heart, Heart’s on Fire, No Easy Way Out, and Living in America.
