For this list, we’ll be looking at the most brutal scenes from animated programs that came out of nowhere. Keep in mind there will be spoilers. Can’t say I’m surprised that the entries that are Cartoon Network related take up a majority of the list They’ve usually been a step ahead of Nick and Disney in taking risks and getting dark and extreme in their shows

I’m surprised nothing from Ed, Edd, n Eddy made the list. There were some rather violent moments in that show. Rolf beating Eddy with a fish, Ed turning into a monster and ransacking the neighborhood, the Kanker hissy fit.

Honestly, with The Grimm Adventures of Billy & Mandy, the creepiest episode goes to their Christmas Special for me. Santa (and the elves) as vampires is scary as a concept. But the fact of how easily forgiven Ms. Claus is for literally turning multiple individuals against their wills into vampires, (and Santa admitting this literally happens every so often), just makes this worse. Seriously, Mandy, I'm fine with the idea of her being the baddest female vampire hunter next to Buffy via killing Ms. Claus because Santa deserves better than the Head-Head Vampire of, (I presume), potentially the entire world. Through admittedly, best vampire cure ever!!!! It's disturbing bits often did make that show great through!

i remember watching the 'Puppetmaster' episode when it aired, and seeing bloodbending for the first time made my skin crawl, but god it is one of the most chilling moments in the avatar world

What's even more terrifying about the Bloodbending scene Avatar is that in order to stop Hama, Katara has to use bloodbending, with the aftermath of it deeply haunting her

Courage the Cowardly Dog never was afraid to get brutal when it wanted, but that’s what made it so good! The most shocking moment for me was in the windmill vandals episode where Eustace gets decapitated.

Titans haunted is the series 2nd darkest ep with birthrite and the end ties on top. It may look like robin suffers from ptsd or hallucinations but as found out it's the mask have some kind of chemical that allows the mask bearer to hallucinate and feel slade

Bugs Bunny is absolutely unhinged. He inflicts not only physical trauma to his insane list of victims, but he even delves into psychological trauma. For instance, will Elmer Fudd ever truly find a loving wife if every woman he dates or even shows the slightest attraction to ends up being Bugs in disguise? It's a mystery how he managed to get a daughter, but it must've been hell on Earth for the poor bastard, fearing every day for nine long months that his wife could in fact just be Bugs Bunny in disguise, waiting to pull a horrible prank on him. We don't even know if his wife is alive or not in Tiny Toons; we're just conditioned to believe that someone was desperate enough to be with Elmer, and that the woman managed to give birth to his daughter. Can you imagine that kind of psychological damage? I can't. Bugs Bunny is a horror movie monster, and nobody can convince me otherwise. Still funny when he gets Daffy's face blown off though.

To be honest, I think the Ren and Stimpy episode, “Ren’s Toothache” or “Man’s Best Friend” should have made number one on this list, because Ren’s Toothache is just so painful to watch and Man’s Best Friend was deemed so violent that the episode was banned from airing on Nickelodeon.

You could have so many differen't things from clone wars. Someone gets cut in half in an elevator, a hand gets cut off in a door. The whole halway scene with maul, on that note he murders a whole vilage.

Fun fact: there is a banned Bugs Bunny cartoon that was made after the attack on Pearl Harbor, where Bugs discovers a hidden Japanese base on an island. The cartoon ends with Bugs driving an ice cream truck to the middle of the base and serving chocolate popsicles to the soldiers. While one of the soldiers is licking the popsicle, we see that Bugs put a grenade in the popsicle, not that cartoony dynamite, but a very accurate drawing of a grenade and he basically blew up every Japanese soldier in the base. Now that's cold-blooded!

Facts: There are more disturbing violent and darker moments of some action cartoon shows in the early 2000s, mostly in shows like Teen Titans Ben 10 Classic Star Wars The Clone Wars and Samurai Jack.

The opening made me realize a good vid idea for y’all. Cartoons that illustrated mental health well. Robin’s slade episode remind me of schizophrenia. That’s my opinion tho, if someone with this condition agrees or disagree, I’d love to know why and if there’s a better episode by another show that illustrates it better

1:50 - Ehhh, in that episode, the only "villain" Courage had to contend with was a harsh teacher manifested from his psyche. The monster shown here is one of several nightmares he has as a result of failing his "assignments" by said teacher, which hammer home just how much of a fuck-up he perceives himself to be. No villain of the week or nefarious scheme here, just a dog's depression and insecurity spurred on by an asshole farmer until it's given physical form.

In case you have not known, Rhapsody Rabbit is not the only cartoon where someone gets murdered. In the 1950 short, the Ducksters, a random audience member shouts, "YOULL BE SORRY!!", and daffy just pulls out a shotgun and straight up murders the poor guy.

The Bugs Bunny cartoon is called Rhapsody Rabbit. But preceding that was the Merrie Melodies cartoon Daffy Duck and Egghead, where Egghead shot an audience member who wouldn’t sit down.

Believe it or not, as a kid there was hardly a moment in cartoons that either scared me or even creeped me out. I don't know if it had something to do with the fact that at the time I was already watching adult cartoons, or I was just a naïve kid.
