You know what, the first time I saw this aired on TV was when I was at the gym. I watched it for a couple of minutes after spending an hour lifting weights, and then headed for the treadmill to go run 6-7 miles. Good run as I recall. I had no idea how good this documentary turned out to be. KJ Hamler's mom is the hero in this documentary if there was one. She was with him just about every step of the way, through it all. Her attempting to run the hill and falling short was hilarious. I get it, I've ran hills myself as a distance runner for conditioning and speed work. Multiple reps. She's was the comedic relief. Good sense of humor. Awesome personality. KJ Hamler is that elite athlete who is the common's man man/everyday man that guys like myself can relate to. He didn't have all the tools, but he had the heart and the desire. He had the longest road out of all those guys in my opinion, to make it to the NFL. KJ was the underdog here no doubt about it. 225 for 15 reps for a 5'9 176 lbs guy is really good. Smaller players like KJ or Sam Mills who were never supposed to make it in the NFL will always elicit a positive response from the everyday man. Fun Fact: Pensacola, FL at one time for a while in the early-to mid 1980's was home to really good wrestling talent. It was a really good but small wrestling territory that produced amazing wrestling talent back in the day. It's also a military town too.
