I refuse to buy another top down diablo clone when i cant even get into diablo why is everyone so scared of 3d arpgs

He also thinks Baldur's Gate (a game from '98, and looks that age as well) came out in 2013 lmao. Even a cursory Google search would have been enough to provide proper information. I am worried at how many people seem to take this video seriously. Also, pointing out pay-to-play as a downside for some games is one hell of a red flag. This guy just seems like he went into one of those lists of "Action RPGs you should play" from those shitty gaming websites and copied his homework from there.

The original Baldur's Gate released in 1998. And you're right, it's not an ARPG. It's a classic style D & D RPG with real-time-with-pause combat, not loot-based.

Nothing changed. For some reason people see the isometric point-and-click style and lump it in with Diablo. First time I’ve heard it pronounced as Bal-door’s gate as well😂

It never changed. It was a crpg and still is a crpg, never is or was an ARPG so no, Baldur's Gate is nothing like Diablo except for isometric view. The guy who made the video confuses crpg with arpg it seems.

You gotta check out Dawn of Masteries mod for Grim Dawn, it's surprisingly well balanced for having an insane amount of classes. I like Path of Exile but my main gripe is the continual nerfs/buffs that leave no consistent build integrity for returning players.

I never got that ''time investment'' that everyone says about POE, maybe it was because I played it before watching content about it but I just played like any other game and the skill three looks crazy but it's separated by classes so it's not really that hard to understand

@@marcosayase I hear ya, there are just multiple systems at play, with years of content added since the start. And the way you add skills in sockets to your items is also outside the norm. It's not such a high skill cap that it is impossible to learn obviously, but for someone breaking into the genre or just getting going, it can be daunting.

@@francoisturgeon1176 My two main issues with diablo (3 at least) is the boring game loop, which is essentially just bounties -> rifts -> greater rifts and thats it, and the itemization which is basically, get a good set, choose the abilities, get ancients that compliment the build, and go do a gr 150. In PoE there is just so many options in terms of farming, and the itemization is so open ended there is no "correct build choice". D1 and 2 are just slow, I love D2 as much as the next guy but holy is it slow. Also what are you talking about copy paste build of other youtubers? Are you trying to claim thats what poe is because thats very far from the truth. Even in depth build guides will preface that each player making the build will end up with something somewhat different. If anything D3 is a copy paste build game...

grim dawn is basicly a reskin of titan quest so you could play that one if you enjoyed the systems

Lost Ark is SOOOOOOOOO boring!

Last Epoch still have roads left before it is close. POE just have so much more time and content on Last Epoch I am really looking forward to more stuff happening in Last Epoch, Diablo 4 and perhaps POE 2 this year though. It is a great year for ARPG players. Grim Dawn is a lot of fun but a bit slow. But the acts and map layouts are fun to play through.

@@ECHO-Gaming That doesn't work for me. It always feels like a "adjust your difficulty by paying" thing. I can only play pay-once games. Just finished Titan Quest in normal difficulty and going for Epic difficulty now. Truly awesome game, I wish there were more like it on Android.

@@ECHO-Gaming Yeah but in pay-once games, game designers just focus on giving the player the best experience they can, while on micro-transactions games, they design it to make you want to buy things. I've played a lot of both and that difference couldn't be more clear. Now I promised to myself that it's only pay-once from now on and my experience in gaming improved a lot. A perfect example of that is Battle Chasers: Nightwar on Android. It's a masterpiece. I couldn't imagine having micro-transactions ruining that game.

Sorry, I played it but Grim Dawn is better for me. I got so bored with POE. Tried it and can only use 5 skills at a time and the skills are not so good to be honest compared to Grim Dawn. Take the necromancer for example. Both POE and Grim Dawn summon minions but in Grim Dawn, you summon more minions than you do in POE. I tried POE but went back to Grim Dawn cause of the dual classes you can build around. Get a lot of variety out of it.
