My favourite flat is an old waltzer which used to go to my local fireworks carnival and it was there for about 3 nights a year. It had 3 operators spinning each car rapidly, with strobe lights and smoke effects, and the ride lasted around 7-10 minutes if it wasn't a busy night. As well as all that, it only cost £1 per ride which was insane

I have always loved Gravitron rides. Over the years they have gone through many names like Starship 2000, 3000, 4000, Flight to Mars, Alien Abduction, Alien Invasion, Area 51, Flying Saucer and others. There’s just something about standing against a padded wall within the confines of a spacecraft and spinning at high speed to lights and music and rising off the floor as you stick to the wall. It’s an especially fun ride if it has a chill operator who doesn’t discourage laying sideways and upside down on the wall.

Those rides give incredible views of the parks and the surrounding land and it just gives people a chance to ride a more extreme version of one of their favorite kids rides. I’m honestly surprised that Flying Aces came to be your top three! With Lagoon being my home park and having several friends operate the ride (I never did as I haven’t worked there yet but I’m planning to), management actually discourages snapping. Though it can depend on who’s operating the ride. Some ops generally don’t care while others do. Out of all the rides I’ve done on it, I’ve managed to get away with snapping give or take maybe 15-20% of the time. I’ve even had a ride op e-stop the ride because a few teens in three of the planes were snapping most of the ride duration of the ride. So consider yourself lucky you got a ride op that let you have fun. Sometimes if you ask nicely, they may sometimes let you. Just make sure they’re not wearing a red or black uniform as those are generally the higher ups. Awesome video and man, I need to get on some of these rides!

Personal favorite flat rides (in no particular order) 1) "Magnum" [MN State Fair] - a typical 'Shake', but this is the only place I've been to that has it, and I LOVE all the motions and flipping! 2) "Space Roller" [MN State Fair, Meadowlands State Fair] - a typical 'Top Scan', but again, I LOVE how this ride runs! 3) "Spinout" [various carnivals; 'Maelstrom' at Morey's Pier] - another personal favorite, though I haven't seen it at a carnival in some time, and Morey's Pier recently removed theirs. 4) "Enterprise" [various locations] - a classic flat ride, but one I have a hard time locating these days, particularly one that allows single riders (the one at the Meadowlands State Fair insists on two people per car) 5) "Zipper" [various locations] - another classic, and another ride that's hard to get on without someone to ride with. 6) "Centrifuge" [Casino Pier, Seaside Heights NJ] - an in-the-dark Scrambler, and my favorite such ride of all time. The original was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, but Casino Pier recently got a new one. Awesome ride! 7) "Musik Express" [various locations] - I just love the ride, but NOT the Wisdom version (too flat); best IMO is the Reverchon 'Himalaya' model; these days, the only one I've been on of this type is at the Meadowlands State Fair ... and it goes forwards only. My favourite flatrides are found on the European fairs and are the next rides: Ghostrider Infinity from Hoefnagels Nightfly ( is a topspin ride in germany) Air from Dante ( UK ride and starshape) Move it 32 Take Off Enterprise (this is the only ride that is no more on fairs) Inversion xxl

@@CanobieCoaster not always ;) there are rides my country ( Belgium ) will never see because its to expensive then... Some thrill rides in Germany on the fairs are around 3dollar... in Belgium begin price = 5 dollar... and its always the same... would love to do a ride in a imperator or a ride thats only on big fairs in the states and not in Europe... i hope that the familys who owns a thrill ride survives the covid period... we got a year of no fairs, amusement parcs, no theater... nothing :(

Next time your in the UK try to get on atmosphere creator waltzer if you can at night. It's has the best lights I have ever seen on any ride and it has really loud hardcore rave music and one of the fastest cycles I have ever had on any waltzer.

Is that a traveling one?
@Thesmokercoaster2 жыл бұрын
@@CanobieCoaster it is yes. If not there is a well maintained classic waltzer from the sixties That is insanely quick and a very very old twist ride from the fifties I believe. It's at a small seaside pier called Walton pier. Just down the road is Clacton pier just been voted the UK's best pier.

im pretty familiar with top scans and i agree that its an awesome ride, the first time i did it i was pretty young, and i kept being pushed to the over side of the seat, so a kid vomited on the second cycle on the seat next to me and it started raining so we had to get off, we got a free ticket and rode it again, this time it was much more intense, since the gondolas were at full swing, the way how fast we rotated was so intense, it slowed down and then i got flipped upside down for 5 SECONDS straight, definitely gave a lot of hangtime, unfortunately the carnival is only open druing summer between 2 july and 16 or 15 august, so i have to wait till next year

Nobody talks about wipeout at knoebels. Besides drop towers it's the most intense flat ride I've ridden. It spins ridiculously fast the entire ride, and the sustained laterals physically drained me. The ride op had the cycle go for nearly 5 minutes, I'm pretty sure he was trying to make us vomit. I don't get nauseous on rides, but I was so dizzy after the ride that I couldn't find the exit. It's really insane for a park like Knoebels

5:10 Technically these are Gerstlauer Sky Flys, and this 5:23 is a Sky Roller. Sky Flys have the diagonal swooping motion, while Sky Rollers circle around horizontally. I haven't been on a Sky Roller, but a Sky Fly; it was pretty hard to flip.
