Jalen Carter hit a work ethic wall. 17 games will show, who has worked harder in the off-season. As a rotational DI, he should be able to sustain better. If he steps up his training, he will.

Jalen Carter is not even close to our third best player. (He would be my bet to make the list next year on merit.) You simply cannot say Carter is top three right now while saying Jordan Davis is a bust. and people go on an on about how we don't know what kind player he will be. They had very similar seasons. Both peak, Carter is better, but Davis was close. There's tape of it. He ran down Josh Allen for God's sake, and the moment Allen realized that a shed was gaining on him was worth the draft capital.

It's not disrespect to leave him off the lions top 3. Which of those 3 do you put out? For me those are the right 3. The lions are *loaded* with guys that could be top 3 on any team. On top of the 3 they listed - branch, la porta, gibs, montgomery, goff, mcneil. Hopefully for them Arnold enters that conversation next year. The only problem with drafting so well is you have to pay them all.

@snow3017 id say Goff, arsb, and penei only cause for the last 24 games the team has had to put up more offensively than defensively to win games. But I think I'm thinking at a team side of things so individually the argument is solid that Aidan is one of those 3.

I'm a huge lions fan. He's nowhere near those top 3. Top 4 if you include Ragnow who is arguably the best C in all of the nfl.

@@JaredBruski Its reasonable. Given hutch's stats last year, he *carried* that defenseive line and losing him would have been crippling. So no way i can pull him out. Like I said, its incredible for the lions to have soooo many guys that *could* be in the top 3 for the team vs back in the Barry days!

Practice don’t mean shit lol at least wait until he’s in a real football game against real opponents before we give him that credit :-) that’s all I’m saying. it is insulting to people like Jalen Thompson and James Connor who have proven it in the NFL over several years, I’m not doubting that he’s an excellent wide receiver, but he’s a rookie wide receiver and hasn’t done a damn thing in the NFL, dude it’s practice.

In some rare cases there are players that are so special that you can project the greatness that is to come, get your point about being perhaps being harsh on some of their established players but with Marv I think there's a good chance he may already be that guy day one.
