By chance found a SBA/ filled S in my drawer with some other coins, must of got it in the late 80's when I went to America, I'm in the UK. Been out of circulation since then, looks quite clean. Was just casually checking the coins in a dish that has sat in the drawer for nearly 15yrs, with some old British coins, have yet to check them.

I had a customer pay with a 1979 d, and like you said nearly miscount it as a quarter. It wasn't till he said he handed me TWO dollar coins and not just a gold president.

Odd thing is that the mint has it down as 20 year production while suspended for 82-98....also as the release of the sac. The mint did inventory and they still had 300million in the vault but originally went from large dollar to small to save on production "saving" 30 million dollars

I have 2 Anthony dollars. One is a 1980SProof, and the other is a 81p wide rim i believe because the bottom of the date is right on the rim.

Well I know that tells you nothing but anyway according to what I read it has quite the dollar value on it. I have all of those in very good condition. In fact i went to bank in st louis and bought 10 rolls all were original rolls from the bank and uncirculated. I got a mix of all of those dates. Mainly 1979 but several of 80 & 81 also.

What if you found one that is supposed to be a proof but it has frost over the entire coin on the front and the back and is also doubled on both sides? What kind of money are we talking. I found one that should be a proof but it doesn't have the mirror back ground. Instead it for whatever reason has the frost over the whole coin. The lettering on both sides, Susan B Anthony's face and the eagle on the reverse are all doubled.

I have a $20.00 unopened role of 1979-P SBAs. Should I open to check for wide-rims or sell as an unopened-roll? Because of the coins being rolled, I cannot even see the rim of the first coin.

Every time I go to my bank, I ask for any SBA $1 coins. So far, over the last 10 years or so I've found 6 Wide Rim / Near Date. And 100s of the common Narrow Rim / Far Date. I've NEVER found a proof at a bank. Ever. But.....yesterday I got a 1917-D Mercury dime. Yay!!!

Have a type 1 and 2 1979 proof. Have 3 81 s proofs but need to see if they are type 1 or 2. Gonna have to get a better magnifying glass. Can't tell if they are type 1 or 2.
