Aluminum backing is a big help when you have gaps and to keep the heat down.

Very concise. Once you get started can you til you give out of rod? Does the amount of adjacent sheet metal determine how fa you can weld by the amount of metal the heat can dissipate into?

Good video, I typically tig steel on DC-EN but not so sure ac wouldn't be as agressive. Thoughts and or advantages or disadvantages of one over the other? I typically am running pulse mig aluminum, or structural stick so the 4 times I fire up my 20 year old mig it's alot more tests then normal.

He is using solid core wire. Flux wire is not needed because you have shielding gas from the tig welder.

do you have to fill the whole inner side of the forms with Argon gas when u do the rocker panels on the sides to make them not rust in the future?

So what if you have a scratch start tig? What techniques for that?

Get an automatic lens rated for tig if u don't already have one, put your wire down in the seam before you start, and light up right on the end of your wire. The wire will help absorb some of the heat and not blow through. A wide weave sometimes helps distribute the heat. Your amp setting is crucial, enough to melt the wire but not too much so it burns a hole in the parent metal. Sharp tungsten and nothing can be too clean! Not my post but hope this helps!

Great tips, but metric dimensions would have been great. By using imperial only you are making it unintelligible for everyone outside the US.

For any "unintelligible" person, the conversion factor is 1.24. And if further information is required for the "unintelligible" ....multiply everything he said by this factor.
