Not sure whether ul c this comment or not. Hi. Yes. Ur the one that has inspired me. I'm on a very limited budget. But the things u do with a mini quad. Wow. I'm really doing my best on limited budget. Not everyone can afford good gear. U inspire me everyday. Please don't ever stop. Well done and good luck with the future. Really looking forward to ur next thing. I could listen to u about mini quads for ages. Thanks for all u have done. Maybe one day I can afford ur radio atleast.

Couldn't agree more about flying with people who are better than you. Ive been flying FPV mini quads for almost a year now and my biggest progressions have been flying with other people, watching their live feed, asking some questions and getting encouraged to try moves I don't think I'm ready for. All of a sudden the difficult becomes the normal. I remember about 3 months in I thought my quad was "drifting" all the time when cornering, I tried different props, adjusted my tune etc. all to no avail, then I went out and flew with an experienced pilot who watched my video feed and told me straight away that I just wasn't adding enough roll and my quad was actually rolling out in corners not drifting. All of a sudden it clicked and I could hit gaps when I wanted because the quad was under my control much more. I hate to think how long it would have taken me to work that out myself given I just hadn't noticed it and was blaming it on the quad lol.

I didn't watch your stuff for a while because I figured you were too popular to be real. I realized that if I am pursuing truth, my condemning a person based on shallow perceptions and the opinions of others, without firsthand consideration of their content, is both prideful and illogical; so I had to turn the stone of Steele. I regret not coming sooner, because your success has not left you disingenuous. I identify with many of your views, and find your character admirable. You are a clever person who speaks the truth; you've come to realize that being honest and forthcoming is circular, and that there is always a reward for being selfless and lifting others. I find your attitude in your videos to be very present and human, which is incredibly useful in delivering your ideas. I totally agree that personal human interaction is the greatest mode of learning: e.g. just look how long this comment is.

You definitely got me into this hobby with that guerrilla fpv video from RR...I’m near Atlanta...I need some better people to fly with... when can I get a chance to fly with the best?? I see you doing a lot of meet ups other places and the whole van tour thing.. Anyway I can get a meet up here locally? I’ve been trolling your guys spots for months trying to bump into you guys but no luck... If you ever want to rip with someone new let me know. Inspiration is big. As well as quality gear. I flew hard for 2 years when I could find the time. One day October my vtx acted up and i haven't picked up a quad since. I always bought quality gear and built quads well but theyll still break and I just got tired of working on them. Im gonna get back in the air soon tho now that the days are getting longer. I looove flying freestyle but its not something you can just go do anytime with 5 minutes notice. You gotta want it. Stay inspired!

Patience! Lack of patience is the biggest problem anyone can suffer from in my opinion. Save up and take that time to listen to these guys like steele who want to see more kick ass pilots, And do some research. I could be flying crap gear right now, but would most likely be frustrated to the point of dropping the gear off at the closed pawn shop. One day instead of a big J to the left of my comments. I'll have a pilot name and be helping others like the great Mr. Steele.....

I relate to the inspiration in skating , except I get it from bmx, we used to drop flatten out our 360’s by dropping our leaning side shoulder, this would cause your body to slowly start to turn sideways on the axis and it made the 360 “dipped”. I want to emulate this on my quad and I’ll be happy.

I think the #1 key is having people to interact with. Being able to ask questions directly instead of asking your question to Google is huge. Way too many variables out there to google all of your questions. Troubleshooting gear, skill, or anything in person helps learning faster.

Take inspiration from the guys that do downhill mountain biking. The races and free style that go on now are very oriented around open field with man made gates. But the most exciting videos I've seen have been where pilots are cutting it close to nature while ripping around in some science fiction drones. Use rock formations, trees, and land marks as gates.

I went out and bought Spektrum radio, then got two Inductrix FPV plus, broke a frame, ordered new frame, then learned hydro dipping to customize.. I want to buy a RTF quad, but you dropped knowledge in a different video about your path you would take.. I decided to build my first one, so I know how to repair it.. OKOKOK.. so had to pause... ummmm.... you started in 2015?!? I mean I am new and all but as far as I am concerned you have the best control of any pilot out there. It is absolutely astounding how good you are. Did you seriously start just 4 years ago?

Good gear takes the guess work out . That's where you want to start. The only exception is this hobby. Buy a 20$ drone and when you can keep that in the air then build one. I love building as much as flying. There's no way to get good unless you practice, practice and practice more. It's 💯% muscle memory. Pick some rates that feel okay to start with or start with anything and Stick to them. Love the videos, keep them coming

I think one thing you missed is not upgrading gear constantly. It is good to keep a setup for a while so you learn it and can predict it. If you are always flying something new you are always spending time adapting.

If you come to Minnesota on your van tour, we should climb, or rip, either way you'd better have some clean chonies on!! But only if you have time of course! Totally get what you mean on hanging out with people who are better than you. Back in the day when I was trying to go pro as a snowboarder(came close, but didnt make it), my best friend and I moved to Colorado and we would rip the park all day and just bounce ideas off of each other, our progression was so much faster than when we shredded alone.

Yeah, fair dues there mr steve. Need a lighter for my ciggie after that one(still one of my favourite Steele nuggets, cracks me up). Do u remember what your comment on nowaks leatherman vid was? I know it's none of my business but I miss u guys hangin out. Family innit- lovem but drive ya nuts too. I actually think in such a fast paced, highly passionate, mostly male industry it's amazing there's not more conflict. It's flight. Heck, there's nothing in the natural world that has prepared us to even be able to comprehend what we do, but we do. We fly. We fucking fly. Like birds. For as long as there have been birds, humans have dreamt, imagined. Thousands of generations got us here, and now we are part of just a handful that can fly like birds and I think that deserves celebrating. Still so much to try, so let's. If I can't, I still want to see someone try. So..... everest, arctic, volcanic, oceanic, high altitude, deserts, dangerous, destructive, explosive.....who's gonna do it? Politics? Bollocks! Got better shit to do!

I'm old and beat up from skating and riding dirt bikes for the last 25 years. For me flying Quads was an obvious transition from skatan. The zen experience is similar , and when I crash the quad takes all the punisment instead of my face! i guess what im saying is..... Does celery help the mustache grow??

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I bought an RTF Arris C250 from Hobby-Wing as s starter, I ended up crashing in snow my first flight and had to get an all new flight controller and esc. Without my good buddy who inspired me to start flying it wouldn’t have ever seen flight again. Once again I crashed and burned and can’t figure out what’s wrong with it even after plugging it into BetaFlight so I’m gonna start all over again. I’ve found my inspiration by friends and watching you and many others like Le Drib and Botgrinder but I’m stuck on what gear I should be flying and how good I actually am. What are your recommendations to help a newbie like myself?

I’ve learned about this “buy better gear” firsthand. At first I bought the bare bones cheapest setup for my drone for about 350$ (including battery’s, goggles and transmitter). Now I’m having to buy a new charger because my 15$one is terrible, so I just wasted 15$basically.

You damn near have the exact speech that I have been preaching for 10 years. I use the cooking analogy though. Stick a chef in a kitchen with descent materials and he can make a meal that will blow your mind. Stick an ignorant (no knowledge) person in the kitchen with the best ingredients and they (could) make a good meal but ask them to reproduce it (highly doubt).

Man I love your outlooks. I hope i can find some people that are in this sport that i can interact with in person to enjoy the hobby with and soak up some knowledge. Its difficult to sift through what information is good or not. I love that you said it is a Social industry. I just dont know if there are any people in my area that fly quadcopters. But I would love to actually experience a sense of community again with other people who share the passion and inspiration for the sport.

I loved the video man. I keep thinking that the most expensive stuff doesn't have to be the best, there is something called value, and even you said that in the video, hopefully things get better and cheaper, if people had to only buy high quality stuff, half of the community wouldn't exist... Again, really good video, as usual.
