Dope list, someone put me up on Nick Grant a few weeks ago, that was a 🔥 project but My favorite was Definitely Nas’s Magic 3, honorable mention to that Vices album with Harry Fraud and Curren$y. Gotta get around to that Larry June and Alchemist joint too.

Good look bro. Yeah at the time that Nick Grant dropped I was super busy with work so I didn’t get to do a review. That Harry Fraud and Spittah could have been an honorable mention too.

Love your list bro! It’s funny that you picked capital gains as the Mickey pick. This might be my favorite Mickey project thus far. Him and monk mesh so well together…. Can’t even argue the westside Gunn pick. That album sure as hell has its lows, but man does it have high highs as gems. Happy new year Bruh. Peace.

Haven’t heard the bun B, but I bought the deluxe cd hall and nash , so I won’t hear it until I get it probably in a month. How does it compare to the first hall and nash that daringer produced?

Glad you mentioned Mickey Diamond. He had an unbelievable year. 9 fuckin awesome albums. My fav was either Oroku Saki or Nobody Bleeds Like Flair. I just wish his vinyl and merch weren't so damn expensive.

I can respect the variety on your list and think it’s pretty solid G. There’s a few of them you have listed I wanted to listen to, but for whatever reason never got around to. But I did end up listening to about 13 you have on your list. Which is kinda funny cause how I’ve told you before that 13 is a lucky number for me and a few members of my immediate family. I appreciate all you do year in and year out with the reviews and really glad I started watching you a few year’s ago. You always bring really dope and great perspectives and are by far the best Hip-Hop review channel too cause you highlight not only mainstream, but the underground and those in between both as well. Salute on another great year of reviews and here is to an even better 2024 and new year 🫡 Also I want to add that over the Holiday’s. I even put my younger brother and 16, soon to be 17 year old and 14 year old nephew’s up on your page as well.

Dope list. that one Might have been my favorite boldy project yet. I think i would have put smoke face or guci ghost 3 ahead of capital gains but mickey had a hell of a run this year and it comes down to a matter of personal preference. I think i would have put the el Camino , jeezy and currensy albums hogher on the list but im glad to hear i wasnt alone in including those projects in my best of 23 list.I did miss a couple of these prijects too. Definitely wanna check out that odisee and that Vinnie paz album. Thanks for a solid year of content Maf and for putting me up on so many of these albums that i probably would have missed otherwise💯

Dope list, I dig. I like the PA and Apollo Brown addition, nice. Also I liked the addition of Mickey Diamond. That Vinnie Paz project is better than his last one imo. Happy New Year 🎉

Killer Mikes Michael and Nas' Magic 3 are definitely also in my top 10. As is Sardines. But the standout album for me this year was without a doubt Jay Royales Criminal Discourse El Michels Affair & Black Thought - Glorious Game was also pretty good. Others that are worth mentioning: AZ - Truth Be Told Teflon - 2 Sides to Every Story NapsNdreds & Nottz - Photos From The Darkroom Paradime - Period. Dillon & Diamond D - Uncut Gems V Knuckles & Phoniks - The Next Chapter

The only thing that keeps me from loving loving the Jay Royale projects is the long skits that inadvertently make me focus on the movie more than his music. His albums are solid though. That Teflon had some heat. It went way under the radar.

Yeah I can understand the skits part. But is is by no means a dealbreaker for me. The album is something else and a rarity in this day and age.

I absolutely love that Vinnie Paz album btw you misspelled his name in the chapter area... have you checked out J Scienide and Body Bag Ben album called Enough to Plague a Saint brother this album got slept on BIG TIME. I hardly hear anyone talking about it. SMDH.

I agree it did start out slow. I liked some of the albums alot this year but as a whole it didn’t feel as good as last years even.

A good list, you already have more of the new shit than the old, which is okay. Are the Nas albums so far apart for you? Not for me, I think the 2 album has more hits than the 3, which is better now, I'm not sure! I'll some album names, that I've heard, this year; SugaKane, Truth Be Told, Rule Of Thumb: Rule 1, Fortune Favors The Bold, Penultimate: A Calm Wolf Is Still A Wolf, Vices, Lessons 2, Dat N.... Daz, Quickfix Level 3: Level Up, Throwblock Music II: 88' D Boi, A Gift & A Curse!!!!📾
