In this video, we are going to talk about what I consider to be the top four guns every prepper should have when SHTF. In my opinion, these are the best SHTF guns that you can have because they will ensure you can defend yourself and your family in an emergency situation. We'll discuss which guns are best for different situations, and why preppers should have each gun in their arsenal. You don't need to overload your arsenal, just these guns will do.

01:54 - AR15 & Best Accessories for It
06:35 - 22 Long Rifle

I chose a Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 full size handgun. As reliable as anything out there, and has the same 18 degree handle angle as almost any other gun out there. Glock has a 22 degree handle angle. I just won't touch them.

the 22unit lets you swap calibers in the AR in 20 seconds or less. The 1022 doesn't handle like any fighting rifle. The sights, safety mag and bolt releases are all different. The 22 unit saves you over $1000 that you'd have to put on the Ruger, in the form of a silencer, scope, night sights, trigger job folding stock, When you add those things to the AR, you'll automatically ALSO adding them to the 3/4 lb, $250 22 unit. 22 unit practice is fully relevant out to 75m, and saves you 40c per shot. So it pays for itself in a few month's worth of training ammo.

@@citizensurvivalplan Please do a video on the kit. But, of course, you just have to have a classic .22lr model rifle around the house like many of us did as kids. They are just too cool. I’ve thought about it but I’ve also heard that the 22lr is a hair smaller and shaves a little bit of the lead into the gas hole and begins to clog it. Again it’s because it wabbles a bit and it happens over a few hundred rounds so be careful. Solution is to clean it when going back to 556.

Thank you about the upper of the AR-15 especially since I live in CA. Anyhow here are my choices… 1. A 9mm pistol and will also be my first pistol. That’s to be determined. It needs to be CA Compliant. If rules don’t apply, I’ll probably have a Glock 49 or if I can be accurate with it, the Sig Sauer P365XL. I also want my 9mm pistol to be able to be in a conversion kit w/ a 16 inch barrel (like in a CAA MCK) instead of having a 22LR rifle. 2. An AR-15. I’ll take your advice if CA Compliant. If rules do not apply, Primary Weapons Systems UXR. 3. Sig Sauer P238HD or a snub nose revolver as a pocket pistol and back up/hideout gun. 4. Probably a crossbow, high powered “hand cannon” (such as .45 ACP pistol or a .357 revolver depending on which I’m more comfortable and accurate with), a .22 LR rifle (or pistol), an FN 5.7, or a shotgun. Also note I want to say Glock (my brother is a cop who only loves Glocks), however I cannot shoot comfortably with a Glock Gen 3 because of my large hands feeling the Glock knuckle. I feel like if I get a Glock, it’ll cost me over $1000 because of frame work for double undercuts and FINGER GROOVE REMOVAL. I’m talking about my very first handgun. I’ve shot with my brother’s G19 Gen 5 and it’s fun to shoot with. However after about 40 rounds, that Glock knuckle feeling attacks. I’ve shot the Springfield XD9 Service Model and that’s the most CA Compliant pistol Im most accurate with so far. However, I don’t like the trigger, the size is not concealable, and it is kind of heavy.

For personal protection I would choose Sig Rattler LT 300 Blackout with silencer, flashlight, and IR laser. With of course a Glock 19 with red dot sight, flashlight, and threaded barrel. The rest would just be normal hunting weapons like rifles and bows.

If you need the rifle QUICKLY, youll probably also need the power, range and penetration of the 223. Very little human activity happens at night and not even 10% have night vision, So the silenced 22 unit is the way to go.when the sun aint shining. Night vision of some sort or other is not all that expensive any more.

Betting your life on the uncertainty that there is not going to be some kind of government during a SHTF situation is a pretty bad idea. Frankly the odds are astronomical, and the odds of something happening is the only safety system we’ve come up with that actually works. I say staying legal is the benchmark for all preppers. In a SHTF situation you want the least amount of heat on you as possible. So, having quiet lightweight concealable firearms and preps that don’t look like preps are essential.

If you absolutely want a "Glock" and nothing else, don't overpay for it. There's police trade-ins (mostly .40cals "glock 22") to be had for under $350. Get a 9mm conversion barrel for $50, and you're good to go! I'd personally choose a CZ P10-C or MR920 (kinda $$$) over a glock but to each their own.

Gonna have to disagree with you conjecture about not having an LPVO optic. They are priceless for ID and overwatch and take the place of having to carry a separate set of binos. Being able to positively identify approaching targets can mean the difference between getting the first shot off or waiting till the last minute. Yeah, so I'd rethink that stance.

A magnifier may be what your looking for. lpvos are really not that great imo they are just a scope thats not very good and offer not great upclose capability. Using a magnifier when needed will still give you the flexibilty of a great multi purpose optic and then adds magnification. you can't shoot a gun that you aint GOT with you and you can't get men or animals to wait while you go GET "the right gun for the job". So you've got to use the most versatile gun available and that's a shorty 223 AR with a silencer, night sights, scope, see thru mount, bubble level anti-cant device, trigger job, 1 in 9" rifling twist, 22lr conversion unit, 60 gr softpoints and 60 gr subsonic Aquila 22 ammo . Add a 9mm in a front pants pocket to that, 2-3 mags for the 223, 2 for the 22 unit and the pistol and that's it. You have to be always lugging around 40 lbs of other stuff, man. So you wont be carrying more than one longarm. You can't "bug in", cause you'll get burned-out at night or sniped. You cant use the roads or a 4 wheeled vehicle, cause all it will take to stop you is some 1" sticks or boards with 3" nails driven thru them.

I hit a coyote on the move at 77 yards first shot. 1×6 with a light & sling. My trusted H&K USP full size 45acp would be my pistol. Both can be concealed under a out door working jacket. A silenced 22lr autorifle, with detachable box mags, night sights, armor, and night vision, is not NEARLY the handicap at night that it is in the daytime. During the day, leave the AR in 223 firing mode, unless you see a very distinctive need for the BB gun quiet subsonic 22s thru the 223 silencer. Then you swap calibers, and as soon as the 22lr job is done, swap back to 223. At night, tho, the situation is reversed. You dont want the supersonic crack or muzzle flash of the 223.

Shotgun is very a versatile weapon, also is pretty much idiot proof in my opinion. Can't go wrong with a pump. Some are chambered in all 3 shell types 2¾, 3, 3½. Nothing is better in my professional opinion than this weapon for defending a home. You can make an argument for an AR or pistol when in an offense mode but cant argue with a defensive mode being you have the advantage of cover and the option of a slug or a 00 buck will only take 1 shot to take the bad guy out of the fight, even if they happen to be wearing your stamdard bullet proof vests.

the shotgun is a waste time and money It can't replace either the rifle or the pistol, It lacks the range, penetration, silencer, 22lr capabiltiy, lw, compact ammo, GI rd and mag capacity of the rifle and it lacks the concealment, one hand use, crawling a tunnel, driving a car sort of handiness of a pistol., My rifle stays taken down and hidden in the vehicle. and my pistol handles the ccw and home defense aspects. YOu are many times less likely to HAVE a longarm when you need it (in your home) than you are to have the pistol not be 'enough gun". Shotguns dont handle like rifles, so you're 'un-training" your rifle skills while you're dicking around with the shotgun.

The thing that nobody ever really considers with any sense of reality in the type of SHTF situation you are describing is does it really matter anymore at that point if you survive or not? Sure in a temporary natural disaster scenario, it makes sense, but if society has completely collapsed, isn’t it really just a matter of time before you succumb to the inevitable? Maybe if you are under 30, you might eventually realize some semblance of your former life, but much older than that, the effort is a futile one
