Well covered, there is still one important question however: Can the camera settings be adjusted without using a mobile app? No? Then the Core is a $399 device with a 3 year working life and a $999 asking price. I'm sure they'll sell plenty to people that don't know any better, but the limitations it has are dealbreakers - at the current asking price. At least when compared to the direct competition.

I am really looking forward to picking up a few of these. A couple of things I would find very useful for accessories would be a USB C zoom/focus controller and an HDMI Monitor with exposure and manual white balance control. It would be very useful to be able to have an operator manually control a camera since you can't really auto crop to shots anymore. For example, it would be good for hockey coverage to have a mevo core in the middle that is following the puck back and forth and then to have a mevo start near each goal shooting along the boards to get play the main camera can't see. To do that the Mevo Core would need to be able to zoom in and out across the ice. One of the announcers could act as a director and cut to the cameras as needed from an iPad.

This would be a great setup. But like you say, really would need the operator for the middle camera.

Question for you Jason: If I download a mevo multicam app on my ipad(m4) than connect multiple mevo cameras (planning to get mevo core x 3) to the app, Would you be able to enable webcam feature on Windows device(dell laptop) and connect multicam app from iOS? We use MS teams to run our streams. Thanks, Patrick

Hi Jason, since you were one of the chosen ones by Logitech to get the Core to review, did you by any chance hear from them anything about its planned availability? I was quite surprised that they only chose US and Canadian market to release it so far (but since Logitech sells worldwide, I would assume it will be eventually available just like the rest of the Mevo lineup)? Any insight would be appreciated, as I am very keen on getting my own copy for testing here in Europe :) Thank you. Cheers!

Thank you sir for the update.do you think the 45 to 175mm lens is to much for youth baseball streaming? Also is the 14-42 not enough for baseball streaming?

45-175 for shot from outfield? just right for youth baseball. The 14-42 is what I used behind the plate most recently.

I think it is also the Olympus 14-42. I’ll check when I get back to it.

yeah, they are the same. I could have been a little off on my focus but the settings were the same between cameras.

I just checked the recorded files. I’m embarrassed to say I dont know how I managed this, but the front camera was recording in 1080. Side in 4k. NO IDEA why I would have changed this. ANd it’s not like I dont have full control at the point of pressing record! I apologize, but thank you for noticing the difference

Ptz cameras dont have changeable lens,and their sensors a les than 1inch ,they also don't have inbuilt batteries, you cant use them on a mobile situation..they are also very bulky, the mevo has a large sensor, meaning you are getting good low light image ,it also have its own app,all you need is a.phone or a.tablet to live stream and also record internally with sd card ..for 1000 you are getting a professional on the go tv like live streaming kit..the mevo is a beast at what it does ..there is no competition..you are paying for more than what you get

The trap of ‘it’s not enough’ is wearisome. Seems to be such a sense of dissatisfaction in general. Fortunately we are usually surrounded by very genuine people. Love my circle!
