Swathi writes, "Most tourists who visit Switzerland go to the known names - Interlaken, Zermatt, Lucerne, Geneva, Zurich…
People hesitate to look beyond these names mostly because they fear that they’ll not see the best of Switzerland.
Let me tell you, this is a complete misconception. Switzerland is especially more beautiful beyond these known names.
Every unknown nook and corner of Switzerland that I went to is mind-bogglingly beautiful! It is raw, yet you cannot find a fault in the landscape. It always leaves you stumped.
When you trek in Switzerland, you’ll appreciate the beauty of the country like never before, because it’s your own two legs that take you there
I read a quote by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe somewhere here, which stuck with me - “You’ve only truly been somewhere if it was on foot.”
Which is why I'm sharing with you the 4 best treks and hikes in Switzerland. You can do all of these on your own.

I am staying in Switzerland from past 2 years and did many treks including Hardergrat , Santis etc, few via Ferratas ( tre signori, Murren etc.) and summited 4 , 4000ers including Nadelhorn. Love the fact that I can go every weekend on solo hikes and it's quite safe too ( dnt forget to take Rega membership though). Their rescue service is too notch and I love staying in remote huttes ( huts).

Loved the video. I have done small treks there like Mt. RIGI, mannilichen to Klien Schidieg (even old people can do this one) and Grindelwald First. Totally agree, due to the infrastructure you can trek anywhere in Switzerland without any hassles.

Hi Swathi! Pleasantly surprised to see Swiss hikes being presented on camera in India . Kudos! I summitted the trifecta of jungfrau, eiger and monch this March. So this was even more exciting for me( sort of a déjà vu if you will). Keep up the good work IH. Cheers, jimmy

Hi Swathi! Beautiful vistas and lovely day hike suggestions. 🙂 I was spoilt for choice, when in CH. I hiked the Tour Du Mont Blanc last year, it was so picturesque, enriching, seeing glacial rivers and the gorgeous mountains. I tried to take little notes each day in a journal, and this too was very rewarding. 😊

I live quite near to german alps.I do regular hiking in german alps in summer. Trails are good and dangerous sections are fixed with ropes for support. You always get a good huts on the mountains for overnight stay and Food. I did kederkantha trek recently and its nice to see lot of people are trekking. All are good experiences. Love to stay close to nature and in serinity.

Beautiful trails and experience shared, congrats Swati. Hope to see IH conducting trails in the Alps. The trek in the west is always an organized affair, so there is no inhabited place, what I mean is there no place which does not have human intervention. They are properly fensed, trails are built, routes are marked and things like that. Exploration on own feel is not there. However it is beautiful country and scapes to experience once in life.

Indian Treks are way more beautiful and variety of landscapes than Swizz. Plus Indian Treks are full of surprises and one trek has different views in different seasons in India.

@@parinmehta7154 when I say Infra I don't mean pollution. On my recent treks in Kashmir I saw more pollution than I have seen in Switzerland. Having said that, we don't need to build that kind of infra but keeping states under developed like that is a crime. What we have done in Kashmir is a crime.

@@zakiradi450 bro. I have been to swizz too. U can't compare Indian landscape with them. Swizz people are educated unlike India where still majority of people who throws stuff here n there. Developerment of infra in Kashmir is need of an hour. Only difference between us n them in Swizz is.. tourists in India takes things for granted n u can't really blame.. dude we have 1.36 billion people...!

:( Unfortunately, there's a global shortage of trekking and camping equipment because of several ongoing issues. Many crucial raw materials come from other countries, However, there is a global crisis in the supply chain that we are facing. It's all in the news of course. There is a container crisis, continuous Covid lockdowns in China, the Russia-Ukraine war and the fluctuations in rates of raw material. Everything is adding to it. Despite this, we will try to make poles available. If we get our shipment in time we will issue it on our treks immediately.

Nature can be slightly 'different' which will look better to us probably because we are used to the landscape here. But i think the major difference is in how they maintain what they have vs how we do.
