I 100% believe that the ancient civilizations had technology that we do not possess when it comes to cutting granite, amoung other techs, but God dawg it we can cut it super precise with water that's kinda cool too.

The water jet is a machine that can cut through any material, even diamonds. When water comes out of a 0.05mm hole with the pressure that's 40,000 times stronger than atmospheric pressure, it becomes a water jet!

The geodes internals were blunted by the water reflecting back into the cavity when it hit the bottom half, not the best way to open a geode but still fun to watch the cut. I use my band saw to open geodes . Ruins my blade though, idk what I’m doing 😂

Thing is tho it’s not the water that’s cutting it. The water in a water jet is infused with an abrasive called garnet which is basically microscopic. The water helps to fire the garnet at above the speed of sound through what ever is in front of it.

Yo guys, i have a very interesting question. Can you sharpen a knife on a water jet? I asked myself this because you also cut out knife blanks. Maybe you could even get some bevels in with the waterjet ;)

I get that this thing cuts with garnet powder which makes it slice through anything. But why doesn't the nozzle itself get torn up?

Because the pressure builds at the very tip, once the water has built up enough pressure, it has already left the tip,
