@@lavere Hey @lavere According to their website, their ARC 56 volt battery is universal. Here is a direct copy paste statement on their electric string trimmers: "Compatible with all EGO 56V ARC Lithium™ batteries"

That is a great point! And it was one of the major contributors to having it on our list. Ryobi is not a bad brand, but we feel it doesn't quite match up with its competitors like DuWalt, Makita and Milwaukie in terms of build quality, and it seems the price point reflects that with their tools, generally. However, Ryobi's garden tools seem to be surprisingly really good. None the less, thank you for contributing your point of view and experience with us.

Makita's are a solid choice.

They don't list their speeds, but from our testing, the Toro felt fine. The EGO was a touch faster, but we believe they limited the speed to help promote the stripe pattern. But it wasn't even a concern to us as no one pointed that out. Some people have their own expectations, you can even see the person pushing the Toro moving at walking speed. If your really serious about buying it, I personally would recommend it. Its a top notch mower! But overall, the Ego is the better mower. The quality on both are great. Hello there. We appreciate your comment, thank you. However, we do not agree with the opinion that battery operated tools are for California compliance, only. While they may serve towards their specificity of intent, electric tools, even when used seasonally, have already shown to offer cost and time savings over their ICE counterpart. Lithium Ion batteries do not sulphate like lead acid batteries, so they do not diminish at the same rate. Nor do they self discharge at the same rate. Also, the lifespan of electric tools vs ICE is always higher. Yes, ICE prices are always cheaper up front.. But when you include fuel, oil changes and maintenance, Electric will always win in the end. Its just our opinion regarding electric gardening tools.

@@techietechnews It's not opinion, California mandated electric by law. Californians have no Choice on what they buy. That's a fact, not opinion. Battery operated tools cannot compete in the market any other way. They are sold at gun point cause they don't sell any other way.

​@@fraudsarentfriends4717 Hello again. As I said, manufacturers did not intend for these products to be used in California, exclusively. Assembly Bill 1346 passed long after everyone was already using electric tools, hence the decision to do so. Again, the statement of these tools only being for California's compliance to this bill we believe is incorrect. Being lawfully ordered to buy a particular type of tool is not the same as being told what to do at gun point. Please do not take what we are saying as disrespect. We appreciate your perspective. @@techietechnews These tools were not being made in mass until after assembly bill 1346 passed. the law was created for California.Not the entire United States. The law was passed for the reason that consumers refused to make an ignorant choice of buying an inferior product without being at gun point of the law.

That is an excellent observation. However, the protruding prongs are on the top side of the mower, preventing anything from getting stuck in the mower itself. You can literally blow out any debris that happens to wedge it way in. But we agree, we would feel better if the battery compartment have an enclosure. Still, it does work just fine and it wasn't of a concern to use when using it. Thanks for your comment :D Jim with the TTN Team

My friend, the electric mowers are fine unless you live on some big property with rough foliage. If you have the average suburban home or close to, electric is the way to go. Jim with the TTN Team :D

@@barneyfyfe8313 With an acreage of property, I would too. I would not recommend electric for properties of that size when a ride on would be more appropriate. We plan on doing a zero-turn rider mower review quite soon. I would love to hear your feedback on it once it we launch it. It will be a month though, still need to gather the equipment. Perhaps I will call them myself and ask them some questions regarding warranty and their process. I would like to see if they have a history of people like yourself who were unsatisfied with their warranty or practices as a whole. We do not wish to promote bad actor companies on our channel.

Hello k.squared. I can understand your frustration, but our audience is North American focused. We do not tell KZfaq who to display our content to, but alas, there it is. We are not familiar with other market equipment, so we are not about to give reviews to products we know nothing about. We simply do no cater to the global market, unless some of what is discuss applies. Adding a metric value equivalent is a good idea, and we will take that as constructive criticism. Ultimately, we are a North American content creator, and that will not change for the time being. Thank you for airing your opinion though. It gives us something to thing about in the future, and should we be in a position to broaden our scope while maintaining our same level of quality / integrity, we may do just that. @@techietechnews Thank you for the reply. And just to be clear, I was not suggesting you should broaden your scope. All I wanted was a mention this was North American market analysis, that's it. It would still be valuable to everybody else, but would not mislead and irritate viewers outside of US and Canada. BTW, I can see now you're Canadian, but I suspect everybody thinks you're Americans, because that inability to mention the country of origin in an English language review videos (or texts, - same problem there) seems to be an exclusively American thing. Hope you're fine with that ;))

They work just fine. You just need to pick the right battery size for your lawn. And if your lawn is bigger than one or two batteries, just buy more batteries. The point is that they are perfectly viable. Thanks for your input.
