WARNING - Spoilers ahead!
Here is my list of the Top 5 best moments in the RDR2 campaign. If you have any disagreements in my list, simply just comment what you think should be changed, and why. Here is my explanation for my choices :
#5: Burning the Manor -
I chose this simply because it is one of the only missions where almost every gang member is working together for one objective. Rolling out and walking up to the manor with 10 gang members was one of the coolest feelings playing it for the first time. On top of that, the realness and visuals when the woman is watching her mansion burn down is just spot on and astounding.
#4 : John's Home -
This one was a favorite for me because back nearly 10 years ago in 2010 playing RDR 1, we spent so much time at John's home, so seeing it get built was awesome. Also after all the chaos of losing Arthur and Abagail & Jack leaving John because of how he was acting, it was plesant to get a break in the violence in this moment.
#3: Defeating Micah -
This and the next 2 moments were all pretty close for being the "best moment" but I have reasons that this didn't take the spot, and it's simply because the other 2 are just more impactful and better. This moment was special because we finally got to learn about what Micah and even Dutch were doing post-Arthur's death. Shooting him in the face felt so fucking amazing....jesus....
#2: Arthur's Last Ride -
Now I know this one could easily go for number 1 spot, but to me, the number 1 spot is right in the amount of importance and eventfulness. This is easily my favorite cutscene/cinematic moment of the game, because you just know Arthur is taking his honor to the grave, and speaking with the gang 1 final time... it's just such a beautiful but weird feeling knowing you are coming to the end soon.
#1: Arthur vs. Micah & Goodbye to John
This, to me, is the most important moment of the RDR series. Arthur shows John that it's not about the money, or anything else. Even in his final moments, Arthur is fighting for John, and dies doing so. The exchange of dialogue between the 2 is so valuable, "You are my brother..." "I know.." This also sets up John to "redeem" and avenge Arthur in the epilouge.
Well I tried not going into too much detail, but what are your opinions? Honestly if you read this far than thanks a lot and good fucking job. Have a good one!
