Many users don't realize you can group app icons together on the Home screen, just by dragging them onto each other. You can also name each group. Saves clutter!

I use two cameras: 1. An iPod on a tripod and 2. I use Screencastify on a Chromebook. It lets me embed the webcam and record the screen. I then edit these two video files in iMovie.

Thx for the split screen trick. Just got my Acer r11 and that is great for having my call portal side by side with my dictionary on other screen. I do medical interpretation and need quick look up of words.

Great vid! But I knew all these tips. Also did u know that if u do crl+alt+shift+the reload button it will turn your screen!

Can anyone explain why Chromebook does not have a delete key, madness! Also, my SkanDisk USB memory sticks will not work. I get a message saying they only work with Windows... madness! Help would be appreciated.

Do you know how to get preview to work? I've been trying all different types of files and almost none work. Sometimes an image will preview but that's it. Thanks!

Can you be more specific? Are you trying to preview different types of file through the Files App?

Yes, through the files app. I highlight the file (Word, Google Doc, PDF, etc.) and click the spacebar and the window that pops up says the preview is not available. Sometimes an image file will preview but that's it. Slides doesn't work either.

The preview function is an awesome feature that can display a wide variety of file types in preview mode. Image Files (such as .jpg & .png) Video Files (.webm & mp4) even Gif files will preview- all image files display in beautiful quality. However, document files seem to not even register for preview. Why does it lack it? I don't know. But PDFs are a different matter. PDFs should DEFINATELY preview for you- They are essentially an image file of a document.

Update: The lock screen changed to the Search button + L. Luckily, if a new viewer like myself tries the Ctrl + Shift + L as in this video, a notification pops up letting us know about the change in command.

I used Screencastify for the screencast portion. You can find it on the Chrome Web Store. I used an iPod Touch for the headshots. I stitched it all together in iMovie.

For the screencast part: yes. I use Screencastify- it is a very useful freemium chrome extension. For the other camera, I have an iPod set up on a tripod. I stitch the two together afterwards.

You could download your scanned item to Google Drive... or access it on your chrome book via email. Whatever device you have your scanned document on- you need to place it somewhere on the web to be able to save it to your chrome book.
