It doesn't really matter what all languages you know, in an interview, almost always you'll have the choice of choosing what language you want to use. Once you get a job, the language that you use can change constantly with the demands changing rapidly. Sticking stubbornly to one language is a great way to doom your career.

@@koko_AD as you are in 1st year, don't learn deep in single programming langauge. Try to improve problem solving skills by starting from easy level problems in coding sites, because once you get into product based companies, you might need to switch languages based on project availability.

@@Manko001 Javascript is high in popularity, because it is overhyped and even under a rock you can find a javascript tutorial. Lets say there are 50.000 jobs for javascript. The developers are 200.000. and we have 10.000 job offers for c# and 5.000 developers. Which language should you learn, javascript which has more jobs? Got the point?

The best programming language to get a job is knowing the basics and advanced programming concepts. It doesn't matter which programming language you choose. If you know one Language deeply and programming concepts you can learn any language in just a few days or maybe in just a few hours.

This is what I want to say. Also not just programming concepts, if you want to go deep, you also need project management, software architecture, software testing, etc. and if you are in game dev or ML Dev you need a lot of math as well. I learned python for 6 months, and I learned C after that in a day. Language is the easiest part in software development

No interview ask you to code in specific language. Data structure, algorithm and system design more important than learning a new language for job purpose.

Strangely programming is not dependent on a programming language. Once you know a medium-low level language well, you can pretty much pick up any language within a day or two.

What is the reliability of this data. Because I worked in 5 different countries and all of them have different popular languages in different areas. Javascript and Java being the common one in most of them.
