You tried my brother. One thing you should correct is the calendar part. Igbos have been an independent people from the beginning of time. They've had their calendar even before Nigeria was created as a country. I was in a class in the U.S. where they discussed about womens rights and guess what? The white professor talked about the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. The women have always been independent, and held in positions of honor and power. Now, that's an interesting fact.
@defrankmedia75202 жыл бұрын
glad you say this. I have always argued that feminism & women empowerment is alien to Igbos because our women have always been independent in their own right . And that they would not not pulled off ABA WOMEN RIOT OF 1929, if they are subjugated as the media will like to believe

rdokoye ok why are you....like trying to say Jamaica and Ghana and one in one
@manel13784 жыл бұрын
rdokoye - I know Nigerians personally and I can tell you they’re similar to Jamaicans. We eat the same kind of dish and speak broken English. Nigerians speak what’s called Pidgin name it similar to Jamaican Creole. Many of the Jamaicans who live on the western part of the island of Jamaica are mainly descendants of the Igbo tribe.
@manel13784 жыл бұрын
@rdokoye Pidin is not spoken by all Africans, only West Africans. Some Sierra Leoneans have Jamaican roots due to the fact some of the Jamaican Maroons are sent there by the British. Many Jamaicans are of Akan and Igbo decent. The Igbos that were brought to Jamaica came from Bight of Biafra. Jamaican mannerisms are similar to that of a Nigerian such as sucking teeth, cutting eyes and non verbal communications by eye movements. A few Igbo words were incorporated into the Jamaican patios. Words like "unu" meaning you, "di" meaning to be, "obeah" meaning doctoring etc. I relate to Nigerians more because we are so alike. There are a quite few Nigerians and Ghanians who live in Jamaica. The Igbos are one of the reasons why Jamaicans have so many light skin persons. As you know Igbos come in different hues of brown. As a Jamaican who been around Nigerians I can tell you we have more in common than you think.

Great video. In Jamaica they historically call this saving scheme "Pardner". When the Windrush generation arrived in England in the 1950's they found Accommodation very hard to find due to prejudice. So they bandied together and saved there earnings through Pardner. This is how most of the Windrush generation obtained the funds to put down on there first house.

@Drake Zakra typical response of a low life, hateful and anger filled ipoban loser. All those ports you mentioned are not closed, but abandoned by you the rightful consumers. Did the afonjas also closed your GRA's and city development blueprints, that your leaders did not build them? I was in ASPAMDA last week and saw an old Banner, in which the governor of Anambra, Obiano, advertised a similar Intl market in the state and how easy they made it for you people to come back home to invest, till date, the stalls are still vastly empty and unaccommodated. You claim to hate us Yorubas but cant stay away from our accommodating land and the way we have made it easy for business to thrive. The last time the northerners gave you ultimatum to leave their region, because of this rude and arrogant stupidity you displayed here, did you people not start running helter skelter, begging the northern elders to caution their youths? We Yorubas are already charting the next generation of developments, by opening 3 more ports in our territory, namely Badagry Port, Epe port and Lekki free trade zone Ports. These are all state government initiatives, with private investment opportunities. Keep hating afonjas, it doesn't shake us a bit. Lagos has seized to be the federal capital since 1991, some 28 years ago and yet, you still want to claim that, it is the only reason she is developing. The first capital of Nigeria was Calabar, Cross Rivers state and even though it is developed, it not because of FG, but the peopleand their leaders...take your hate elsewhere, the only people that can like your stupid mentality are failed Biafraud Ipobians like you.

Yes, some ethnic groups in the Southeastern part of Nigeria and the Tivs are considered Bantus. Actually, it's been suggested that the origin of the Bantus are in the Nigeria-Cameroon axis. So, these ethnicities are often considered, proto-Bantus. Nevertheless, many DNA studies often show some significant percentage of Bantu DNA among the Igbo constitution although, language wise, from which the Bantu classification emerged, the Igbo language is not condered Bantu. This, in my personal opinion is a bit surprising given the fact that the word, "Bantu", the word for "man/human", the basis for the association of commonality amongst these the various linguistic variations of this subgroup, is similar to the Igbo word, "Madu, Mmadu or Mmandu" also, used for "human".
