Oh please do the bloody video on the types of gloriosum. I haven't pulled the trigger on the regular gloriosum because I just don't have the room. I really like the round form, but if there are others....

Small Gloriosum don’t take up a ton of space. It takes a WHILE before they really start taking up a lot of space. Mine is trained to grow in a circle as well, so even though she’s putting out huge leaves, it’s in a 13” round pot.

I live in Australia were rare plants are both more expensive and harder to get than UK Europe and northern America and found a gloriosum at a local supermarket in a ceramic pot for $25, the other day lol .I started getting interested in plants during our very long lockdowns so found it hilarious and a bit sad lol .yes I bought it .the pot on its on was worth about $10!

Dean McDowell has to be one of the toughest hybrids ever created! I remember a couple summers ago I was away for an entire month and my entire collection had spider mites and thrips simultaneously, and my Dean McDowell came out almost pristine, I was in awe! It sizes up super duper quick too!

Yeah your McDowell is definitely looking for light... I've had mine grow gangly and also pretty compact... it's not that the plant is inherently gangly, but rather that it has so much flexibility with it's petiole length depending on the light and feed it's getting... oh and as far as we know the sp Silver is just a variation of the sp Colombia or at least it is being used interchangeably... Edit: just wanted to add to the info on the McDowell that, bc of this flexibility, unless you have good lighting coming from one direction, the petioles and overall plant will look very messy (in contrast to the Gloriosum for example)

Very few nursery’s worth going to in my area… I’ve only seen a McDowell at one place… HUGE specimen.. 1500 bucks! Like 4-5 months ago! I’m convinced the price has been too steep, so as the three 1500 dollar specimens got bigger.. they just upped the price.. and that’s why they’ve been sitting in the nursery!

I have limited space, so I haven't gone for these. They are beautiful, i do want Dean McDowell, but it might get too big for my space. I live in US, so there are differences in price. But that is not a bad thing. I do love these videos to teach us about plants.

I love the philo SP platinum! There was one at a plant shop near my house. The shop owner told me it was SP Columbia. I don’t know if he just accidentally said the wrong thing but I have an SP Columbia and it is not blue like that!

@@oktszu4198 you know what? I’m gonna take back what I said. My second to newest leaf is much darker than the original leaves. I’m wondering if the difference is feed. The old leaves are lighter color and smaller. since I changed it to semi Hydro, the leaves are much bigger and darker and bluer. i’m not sure anymore if it is the same plant.

I think it's the same plant, I just got a Columbia and it's blue green almost like a silver sword but more greenish

I would like a video about The (normal) philodendron mamei and The philodendron mamei silvercloud. Here in The netherlands you can not buy The normal one. The silvercloud is everywhere

I just bought a plant labeled Philodendron SP Columbia that looks the same as your first plant you called Platinum. Maybe try searching that name and you'll get more results. I just got mine and I'm obsessed mines real busy though I think they put 3 TC babies together in one pot so there are like 4 growth points. Unless they are different 🤷🏼♀️

Have y'all noticed that as your Majestic matures that the leaves get more splotchy and sodoroi ish? I got a baby and they looked pretty green but the largest leaf is more splotchy. It gets decent light, is it a lighting thing? I want more splotchy silvery sodiroi looks!

I need advice on caring for my Pink Princess in flower. Should I cut the flowers off? Since flowers appeared the leaves started growing slower and smaller than before flowering and leaves look like their aging faster. The flower pods coming out every node. Please advise..I'm thinking the best thing to do is cut off all flowering pods as they appear..

A question to the audience. I'm desperately looking for El Choco Red (They are hard to find here). I just found one for a fresh cut. It is not expensive, but also not free. I can get it by mail in 24 hours. Mother plant looks not so good. The temperature outside is about +2. Should I buy it?

Question: I’ve got a philodendron gloriosum in a long pot growing in pumice, and it is growing off-course heading sideways toward a side wall. If I leave it alone it will hop over the side wall. I made a makeshift wall trying to have it bang against it and redirect its course. Would it work?
