The scene where Kiryu stands on the boat giving a thumbs up reminds me so much of the flex tape commercials for some reason.😂

I know i’m years late, but I used to work as a hostess in Japan (nothing as fancy as cabaret clubs, just as very shady snack bar) and Kamurocho Love Story is a perfect recreation of some of the most cliche 70s/80s “I’m a macho dude in a hostess bar” songs out there. We had customers who were pretty obviously yaks and they loved those kind of songs. (also anything with “man”in the title, never met anyone as cool as Kiryu but it felt like they watched a bunch of movies and fell for their own hype) There was one called Izakaya that I ended up having to learn, so many dudes requested it... Also a lot of the music videos are straight up parodies of 80s/90s j-pop acts. Judgement straight up cribs from an old idol group called Otokogumi and their song “TIME ZONE,” chain link fence and all. The only thing missing to make the Ryu ga Gotoku series a 100% accurate karaoke simulator is the pantsless DBZ theme screaming

Some of my favorite karaoke songs from the games in no particular order 1. Heartbreak Mermaid(Chika and Majima) 2. Judgement(Both Kiryu and Nishiki) 3. Tonight(Kiryu singing this song so well) 4. Rouge of Love(Saejima and Majima) 5. 24 hour Cinderella 6. Bakamitai(I liked all of them although I liked Saejima and Akiyama versions the most) 7. Get to the top(especially Majima)

I thought that today is a diamond was about Yakuza 6 entire story "Spoiler alert" The singer talks about how this person is in a state of REM sleep which is deep sleep does that remind you of a certain someone who is also in a deep state of sleep a coma perhaps. Anywho throughout the story kiryu san keeps thinking about Haruka who is in a coma and always wonder when she will wake up. Later in the last chapter kiryu got "killed" hence the last sentence in the song "maybe i should sleep to"

I'm shocked that Zetsobouchou Pride isn't being talked about at all in the comments. That song is fantastic

How well 24 hour ciderella fits majima, specifically 0's story, puts it up higher for me.

I just got into the series a while ago. Just finished all the sub-stories in Yakuza 0 for Kazuma and was looking forward to singing Judgement in the next game. Kinda sad to hear it won't be there, but I also look forward as to why it's not there for 'obvious reasons'. Now I just need to focus on my projects and I'll have a clear conscious to buy Kiwami.

I always thought Hinjitsu no Diamond was about a comatosed person (I think Kiryu was comatosed in Yakuza 6, right?) but I kind of like the death interpretation.

the first song is the same as Judgement its around the story and Haruka and if she wakes up he wants to get take her away from it all and if she does not wake up .... well then kiriyu has lost alot of loved ones in his life

And thinking about the majority of the plot for Yakuza 6.... Honjitsu Wa Diamond is also the perfect analogy for Kiryu talking to Haruka. At least that's what hit me when I started reading the english translation. Just the desperate pleads about "please wake up" and returning to their beautiful home back in Okinawa. When I first booted up Y6, seeing the new Karaoke songs were the first thing I did (in Kamurocho). I genuinely thought the music video was set in Okinawa. At least until I saw Onomichi proper. Kinda mindblowing with that in mind and all the heaviness the original lyrics represent. Did not expect for the song to be this amazing. It's great, but wow.

I loved both "Y-ji Road" from 6 and "Shiawase nara ii ya" from Kiwami 2. Both are bittersweet, with "Y-ji Road" talking about two people in love growing apart and realising that idealistic dreams don't live up to reality, and "Shiawase nara ii ya" talking about putting a loved one's happiness before your own and taking heart from that.

The last part of 24 cinderella is actually pretty nice “Even if midnight has passed, you are my 24 hour cinderella”

When I first read Today is a Diamond's lyrics, I immediately thought that the speaker (Kiryu) is talking to someone who's dead/comatose (Haruka) which is really sad.

I havent played yakuza 6 (song is Today is Like a Diamond) but I feel like since I've watched some other videos about Haruka being in a coma. Maybe bes singing about her? Can't really tell, I'm too stuck to hearing it alot and singing along while noticing, yes this song is sad as heck.
