Same applies to the Phil Lynott and Cliff Burton basses. A barried up late '70s P Bass is a £3000 instrument. An old Black and Gold Aria worth even less.

@@orlowski2018 From EBMM's website: "All proceeds from the sale of this Cliff Williams Icon series bass will be donated to The American Alzheimer’s Association Gulf Coast Chapter who provides support and resources for those living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer's or other dementias." Knowing Malcolm Young succumbed to dementia, donating the proceeds is kind of understandable, as opposed to pocketing it all instead.

🚩 I once owned a Washburn USA Dimebag Darrell Southern Cross and a Modulus USA FB4 Flea model behs. I had to sell both because of a variety of life issues. The pain of missing previously owned items, especially artist/signature model type guitars, is suffering I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. That Aria Cliff Burton behs has been on the bucket list for decades.

Reverend guitars make a lot of sig models. But their sig models are for PLAYERS, not collectors. I, for instance, own a Brad Houser Basshouser Fatfish 32 medium length neck behs. Its awesome and one of a kind. I play it at every gig. So my point is, sig models don't have to be pretentious personality peddling. Reverend does an amazing job at working with artists to create a truly affordable, playable and good looking instrument.

Anthony Jackson's signature Fodera Presentation II costs over 30k. And the funniest part about it is it doesn't have any controls on the bass, you just get a single pickup with a XLR jack. While Thundercat's model is expensive, it has fully active electronics and a Roland MIDI pickup built-in. You also didn't include Michael Manring's Zon Hyperbass, which costs around 7 grand.

Some of these guys were around before a signature instrument was a thing. Aria wasn't really known for making high end stuff as a mid tier Japanese manufacturer like Fernandes. To my knowledge Cliff was using them just before he died. He used his Rics more often. With the Thundercat you at least get additional features (semi?)hollow, 6 strings, 3 pickups. Interesting that they used EMG HZs which are both underrated and shouldn't add that much to the instrument cost. I think if you're going to pay a lot for a bass, it should have stuff on it most basses don't have, like Billy Sheehan's Yamahas with their dual outputs and unconventional pickups.

ABC rich Rickenbacker longneck will cost a pretty penny if they will still make them. I have one and I had to get the neck Rihanna live sounds great. I hope that what kind of strings are used for it they only use that one kind of sounds like Paul McCartney and the older days of the Beatles and he switched to one of those. It was a lighter kind of bass, but it was still the boom zone but it was.

Man Burton’s and Lynott’s are some awesome looking 4 strings though! Plus I guess I’m biased being I’m such a big fan of them both. David Vincent also has a signature, that Dean “Demonator”- I remember him talking about it like “a quality bass that everyone can own” and the damn thing was like 2K and change! Not nearly as high as those in the video but pretty damn high when you say “everyone”. They make cheaper models now thankfully. Cronos needs a signature and I can’t wait for Jerry Only’s “Devastator Bass”…speaking of Jerry Only, he has a really unique, super overdriven sound…*cough-DO A BIO ALREADY!!-cough*
