I tried a few rubbers after taking the game up about four years ago, but once I gave the Hurricane 3 a go I knew I'd never look elsewhere (now have it on both sides). It's brilliant for 'local league' club players like myself because the power of faster rubbers can be difficult to control. You can get fantastic control and spin, but it's still fast enough at the level I play at, when you want to really put the bat through the ball. A tip if you use them and don't want to spend a fortune changing them too often - once the tack goes, add a little commercial cleaner (I use Custom's Bio-Clean) just before you play each time. The rubber instantly gets some good tack back.

ye i was thinking about using it too since i like spin and control BUT im a bit worried of the spin-sensitivity and my recieve going bad from it also im used to play with softer rubbers witha high throw to open with a good topspin on backspin balls and these hard rubbers are pretty different i guess

I first used bike glue back in 1978 when i ran out of glue and when telling other players they seem shocked that that glue would work. Those puncture repair kits were fantastic as they came in a small tin box and would fit nicely in your bat case and came with a little grate plate to help you scuff off the old glue. Never noticed any change in speed when using it on mark v or the black power rubber on my forehand. I don't know about the Hungarian guy being the first, i don't think he would have been born when we used it here in Australia lol.

Donic Coppa was also one of those popular ones back in the days. I played the Donic F1 and F3 when I was younger. Donic was actually a very popular brand back in the days. Now even Dima switched to Butterfly, which is actually really sad, but Butterfly hit the market with that lucky Tenergy-punch and seem to be the benchmark until today.

I use Tenergy 05, which is an arm and a leg, but cheaper than trying lots of other rubbers for a couple of weeks in the hunt for something close. Can I have some advice on gluing though, I used to roll it on, and that stretched it. Now I lay it on - is either way better (laying it on means you can take it off to reuse it more easily on spare bats as it will still fit - stretching tends to shrink back after cutting)?

In the 80s I had Mark V on one side and Sriver or Super Sriver on the other side. The 80s was a good era for rubbers. I was surprised how much spin you could get from these rubbers. Used to use Double Happiness instead of Sriver too. Was super sticky too (with a blade) , so you reallu had to look after its tackiness.

I get the Thibar EVO MXP, but I am not sure if it matches the same quantity of players for a really long time playing with Bryce ...Bryce Speed etc. Bryce was the equivalent of Tenergy back in the days and it stayed popular for a a very long time. Tenergy will be hard to beat for a time to come, it's revolutionary balance makes it the best ever, and mentally, a top player will not think twice about using/trying it for sure. Especially because they are sponsored (it's a no-brainer). Cool video though ! PS (yes the Hurricane needed the bat to stick to the ball... more contact 😁)

@Wisstihrwas
@Wisstihrwas 2 жыл бұрын
As i know Bluegrip- rubbers are hard. Hard rubbers can generate much speed and spin, but they need to be played with the right technic. Otherwise the ball leaves your bat, before you can really influence the ball how you wish to. So the question is really, are you confident enough in your skills? Do you bring the technic and the physicality with you, to hande a fast rubber? If yes, go for bluegrip or tenergy 05 hard. Otherwise try a softer sponge. In my beginning days tenergy 05 fx worked pretty well

Hello. Could you advise the Allround blade rubbers ? For example, I consider: Donic Appelgren Allplay, Yasaka Sweden Classic, Stiga Allround Classic etc. I am a self-taught amateur and have made a lot of progress as a recreational player. I had three rackets folded by myself. 1. Donic Waldner Exclusive AR +, Donnic Akkadi Taichi fh and bh 2. Donic Persson Seven, Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft bh, Rakza 7 fh 3. Donic Waldner Exclusive AR +, Donic Bluefire JP 03 bh, Bluestorm Z3 fh Something must have been wrong because the balls were flying behind the table or stopped on the net. Of course, I am aware of technical shortcomings. Overall, I would describe myself as an Allround with an ambition to play offensive. I am looking for a suitable board and cladding for the first years of basic training. I heard that the best allround blades are 100% wood and soft rubber to start with. I am asking for help and Best Regards.

So I hadn't played in over 35 yrs...so I was quite shocked when I came back to table tennis, everything had changed. The balls, the rubbers, I missed a lot LOL. I started with Hurricane 3 because I wanted better technique. Having played before and now KZfaq instructions, I picked up very quickly. After I had my strokes, I tried Rakza7 and was blown away. Using a Tibhar Pure Wood blade. I was so impressed, I opted for a sheet of Tynergy 05 - and OMG. I have the technique to control it, but the instant speed and spin and touch, were simply amazing. I remember saying...I will never not own this rubber ever again. LOL. It is amazing stuff.

I'm looking for a backside rubber to learn topspin with no sticky adherence but good grip, good dwell Time, forgiving, durable more than 6 months if possible, not slow, not sensitive to spin and not high throw. I've Yasaka rigan it's good but i've not feeling for topspin. Perhaps something like victas v07 regular.

The h3 neo gets its speed from the blade and your power, it can be slow when you need it and fast when you want it, with a carbon blade, it can be faster than t05, i have them on my viscaria, but the h3 really needs lots of power and excellent technique that it forces you to develop, thats why i love it, it also has all the spin of the world and amazing control. Edit: i have the t05 fx and the 05, i use the fx on my backhand

You only said that because you haven't tried boosting Hurricane 3. Once you do, it doesn't need that much power anymore and the spin is crazy. It will even reward lazy technique somewhat. Faster that t05? Even boosted it is not faster than tenergy much less unboosted.

@john.s1962 4 жыл бұрын
I dont like boosting, also yeah, not as fast if you don't put power, it is slower with more power though... compare ma long's topspin or fan zhendong's with timo boll's or ovcharov's
@inyourface123
@inyourface123 4 жыл бұрын
@@john.s1962Nope. Ma long or fan zhendong do not use the DHS N3 you are taking about. They use a heavily boosted version exclusively produced for the CNT and not available in the market. Tenergy 05 is hands down much faster than the regularly available H3.

In the 90’s one of the most popular rubber was Donic Coppa. In modern era certainly is the Tenergy and Xiom Vega.

I use hurricane 3 and Yasaka phantom 007, the price of my phantom 007 when i bought it was more or less Php2,800 or $57 then as of today the phantom 007 our local shop sells it for Php 1,170 or $24 only. The prices of some rubbers are cheaper now.

I think the list is good, but Butterfly Bryce cannot be left out of any top 5 as it changed table tennis in a way similar to how Tenergy changed it... it is a historical milestone in table tennis. Sriver /Mark V (interchangeable), Bryce FX, Tenergy 05, Hurricane 3, MX-P

Mx-p is definitely the spiniest rubber i have ever used ,i have never seen my opponents service returns miss the table by such huge margins,BUT WAIT! these rubbers are dead as a door nail in about 4 weeks and have tried the latest mx-p versions from tibhar and have been extremely disappointed, these rubbers aren't cheap and if Tibhar could develop the rubber so as the spin lasts longer i believe then that this rubber would dominate the market.
