How's audio without the Panasonic GH5 XLR Microphone Adapter? or is it necessary to get the mic adapter? if i use laverlier mics for recording, would I need the adapter?

So the dummy battery, if it's possible to plug it into the wall then is it possible to connect it to a high capacity LiPo battery like a drone battery (of the same voltage of course) to get a really long shooting time from it?

Hello, Do you know what recording on 95mbs SanDisk memory cards is like? I've just ordered some more of Amazon before watching this and am wondering if I picked up the wrong ones for recording in 4k 60fps on my new GH5? will the footage be choppy or something? Thanks, Michael.

Dear Andru! Everything you showed is kinda nice, but on thing I have to correct you with: you shouldn't leave open the battery compartment door when you're use a dummy battery...! There's a little rubber insert out there which allows you to run the cable through this place and close the battery door. Same thing with battery grip, though! Cheers, man!

A lot of ENG cameras have dual card slots and most allow relay recording. Some allow backup, pre-recording and dual codec recording.

Nice video! One thing I would point out is that usually, there is a small cutout in the battery door so you don't have to leave it open when using a dummy battery/external power. Keep the good content flowing!

Cool video Andru great recommendations and suggestions. Hey wanted to make a recommendation - check out the Tether Tools Case Relay it will allow you to plug the camera into a USB battery plus it also has a UPS in it as well so if you have to switch USB batteries the camera will still stay powered. Works pretty good. Also you mentioned that you have to leave the battery door open to use the dummy battery - there is a little door on the front of the GH5 that opens so you can route the cable out and not have to leave the door open. Would a Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-I 95mb/s be okay in this camera? and if not, where might it struggle? thanks!

Alex Chambers you could use it. Altho when you want to record video the way it's meant (high Bitrate) the normal cards might or will be too slow for that. Especially when the 400mb/s codec comes out

You mentioned keeping 2 SD cards in the GH5. I keep two until one is full, but then, if I don't have another one, I take one out. WHY? Because the GH5 will keep annoying you telling you that one is full. This also delays boot up by about 15 seconds while it is reminding you.

Instead of being tethered to a wall socket for power you can use the same NPF series battery with an adapter that will also tell you how much charge you have left ,I use it daily with unlimited success with additional batteries on hand .

There is a risk getting big storage SD cards, because of overheating. Keep it in mind Bro and pay an extra attention on it. Overall accesories are really good. Looking to purchase a GH5 next month!

Nice video Andru! i've had good luck with the Watson batteries. Isn't there a small flash made for the GH5 also? Sometimes that would be good for fill with strong back-lighting. You said it makes no sense to do portrait or vertical video. Please tell that to all the bozos shooting vertical videos on their cell phones! Drives me nuts every time I see it on the news, FB, etc. :(

+John Packard I'm gonna look into those Watson batteries you mentioned. Vertical video has its place (when viewing on smartphones) actually - check out Apple's latest videos on their channel for the tutorials on using the iphone camera, and lit it on full screen on a mobile device. It's the perfect use of vertical video!

Battery lasts 2.5 hr in c4k 24p, battery grip is uselles, just buy 4-6 batteries.

It's pretty obvious that you're a new "GH" user. Long-time GH3 & GH4 users do not think of the battery grip as a "must-have" accessory. This is not primarily a stills camera but rather a movie-making camera that may use video/movie-film accessories like a gimbal stabilizer, shoulder rigs, cages, mat boxes, etc. that's just going to make a battery grip more of a nuisance than a useful accessory.

If you know anything about my channel, or did a few minutes of research, you’d see that anytime a video is paid, it’s disclosed (try watching the first minute of any of my recent product features - a majority of them are sponsored.) Disclosure is the law in the US. So if I don’t say it’s paid, it’s because it isn’t paid, regardless of your assumptions.

What 4K $2000 range camera do people suggest? GH5 autofucus is suspect, Sony overheats and is unusable, Nikon D500 has less features, Fuji has short record time, olympus om-d e-m1 mark ii seems ok. The Sony RX10iii looks good but less features....

i bought the GH5 body only & spent 1,100 in total... was used but brand new basically & so pumped... just ordered the panasonic 35-100mm lens aswell (i film high colors, beach & street w/ some surf too)

Sad. It is guys like this that are helping to kill the good local dealers. By promoting some big box dealer out of NY you are hurting the local dealer who answers questions, has product to touch and test and supports their local photographers. And by the way, did you know that when you buy camera gear online that you are REQUIRED to pay tax locally. If you don't believe me ask a photographer who has been audited ! We all buy stuff online but I also try my best to support my local camera store, restaurant, gas station and other small businesses. Otherwise next time I need something they won't be there.

Yes i own one and hate it,the quality of the GH5s video and stills is soft and mushy,the longer the focal length the softer it gets,my Sony RXMKiii wips the pants off it for resolving detail.As a mainly a wildlife filmmaker this camera is a HUGE disappoinment.

Strange. I've seen incredible video shot with GH5's. Some where sharpness and crispness couldn't be any better. Possibly your is defective? I have a GH4, and admittedly never use it for still shots because I have other cameras with larger sensors that are better suited for that. But for video, I couldn't be happier. And I'm picky. I've seen GH5 video that seems to surpass my GH4.

Ok i was a bit over the top Its a fairly good camera better colour than my RX10iii but less detailed resolution though Buddy i have used cameras for 40 years.
