In this video I want to share with you guys my top picks for face masks, balaclavas and neck warmers. I think that finding a good accessory to protect your face and neck is underrated and I hope this video will give you some good ideas. I like to have a variety of snowboard balaclavas for the weather conditions and the type of snowboarding I'm doing that day. i agree - 2 would be wise. Thin one and one for the crazy cold days. I used to carry just 1 and make it work - will def look at 2 new ones when i get to whistler this year. Thanks as always Kevin

I use a Merino wool Buff as a face mask/neck warmer on most days. Works pretty well but I use a warmer balaclava when it's really cold.

The AWSM brand neckwarmers with the piping are super good! They have the warmth and adjustability to put it in goggle or under chin too and keep their tightness and elasticity really well!!

They sell the separately now too so if you don’t have the goggles you can wear it. The 3 layers are awesome!! Great if you want to buy the goggles later too! I unfortunately bought some wicked Dragon goggles before I found the mask!

Would you ever make a video reviewing/finding/showing some good cheap/low-budget snowboard gear? I'm going to be buying lots of new gear this season and really don't feel like spending all of my money.

Tina Shi I don't know where do you live, but when I travelled to Poland to snowboard a bit, I found some pretty cheap gear from random guys in the local market. (By cheap I mean a really good snowboard pants were about ~20$ - brand new). So I would recommend tou to look around some local markets at the area you are snowboarding.

If you've got something like TKMaxx (or TJMaxx in the US) around, you should check those shops out. They bring in the seasonal wear and gear every autumn and sometimes they've got really good stuff from the last seasons for small money. I also like to get some second hand stuff since there are a lot of people who give up on snowboarding/skiing after one try and sell their almost new gear.

Tina Shi Every Snowboarding company makes low end price products, I bought boots, bindings, pants from Burton and it wasn't even 350 bucks

I got a North45 magnetic face mask a few years ago, it's much warmer than the Anon MFI (I ride in Quebec and it gets really cold here) and it's the only face mask that keeps my goggles from fogging. It's not cheap but definitely worth it!

I have a hard time finding face masks/neck warmers that are big enough for people with big heads. Everything that goes over the face either smashes my nose or does not connect in the back.

I suggest the anon mifi, it's a magnetic series for anon, it also comes with a magnetic face mask which connects to the goggles, I own a m3 and it's the best!! Highly recommend the anon mifi series

I use that same air hole, i like it but the only thing is that on the really cold days, lips are a bit too much exposed.

Hi, thanks for the video. What material is your Airhole neck warmer? You have the airtube don't you - i'm not sure how it differs from their facemask. They do 11 different materials and 4 different airtube models so I don't know what to get. I just want an all rounder that isn't merino. What do you class are really cold days?

I’m not into these full head and face balaclavas. I prefer the neoprene and fleece face masks that Velcro in the rear. I like the one that’s have neoprene over by face with holes for nose and mouth and a fleece gaiter around my neck. They are easy to pull up and down and they don’t add extra thickened under my helmet. My helmet keeps my head plenty warm even on the coldest days and I torn like extra fabric between the head and my helmet.

How do you keep your goggles from fogging when you don't have them pressed directly up to your face because a balaclava is underneath the seam??

One thing I´ve learn about facemask is that, its best to have airholes. I had to pull my fask down many times when I was riding.

Ok so here is my issues. I have a full balaclava and when I wear my goggles I get inside lens fog up and eventually with any reduced air flow I get from what I can tell frost forming. I had the company advise me not to wear the mask under the lower half. But then I have no nose and lower face protection from the cold.

This is the problem I was looking for. I think I would rather get the neck one since for the most part helmets already have warmth protection, the nose and mouth and neck get freezing cold which the neck warmer covers all 3.

+SnowboardProCamp .....can you make a suggestion for an Army soldier? He's in WA and only gets to snowboard 2-3x per year but still needs protection/warmth a few months of the year. What would be best both on/off the slopes?

Hey Kevin what are your thoughts on the 2018 GNU Money, I've been snowboarding for about a year and the guy at my local Ski Company told me it was a good what he called progression snowboard, just want to know your thoughts on it thanks, Connor. BTW I did end up getting without any research on it just what the guy at Ski Company told me, but I did need a new snowboard really bad. It what I wanted and I liked the looks of it so I bought it.

I just wear a thin balaclava and a beanie because the worst it gets in Australia is -10° to -15°c

hey do you have any tips on how to ceap energy during the day? i race snowboardcross and sometimes i get tiered by the afternoon and then i cant compete properly so yah if you have some tip it would help thx.

+William_scott Vlogs Eat lots of high carb foods! I typically do oatmeal with lots of fruit and dates in the morning. High calorie smoothies packed with fruit. Try and stay away from eating allot of heavy/fatty foods before you compete. I have a few videos on my channel for smoothies and breakfast thAt I eat everyday to have lot of energy. Hope that helps!

I own a grand total of zero face masks. Snowboarding for 20 yrs and never needed one. Only get cold on the lift sometimes. That’s when the Ninja suit and jacket gets zipped. Been looking at the fjord full face mask though anyone used it?

The gnarly hood or try the blackstrap balaclava with a dual later neck warmer over the balaclava and goggles (if ur riding snowboards ) but bS gear is great I personally have a bS dual later neck gaiter and it works amazingly I'd definitely buy again they are about 20-25 bucks for the neck gaiter and the balaclava is like 30-45 so all together about 55 dollars for both and they work like a charm

neck warmer and airhole does the trick for me. also have a burton warm balaclava when really needed in the super cold days. usually tend to go for neck warmer
