-25% damage resistance to elemental attacks is just too good. And being able to instantly apply it from so far away is game changing. Switch weapons as your enemy makes the long trip to you and you never have to worry about agro not being prepared. Also its got a great look.

I completely forgot to mention this, but ya Blood Bullet is OP for status effect. Suck and then shoot. Love that skill to death.

@@SheenShots Yep, the Shatter bullet also inflicts pain and has higher impact than normal. When placed in a Cannon Pistol, it is an amazing opener. Blood Bullet will attack with a magical leech effect for some damage. Then it can immediately fire a blood bullet created when the leech happens. The leech also heals you. This is 3 hits back to back. If you had the Cool boon active, you can consume it to create a frost bullet. The animation for this is pretty fast and is an even better mid-combat reload. Also, that bullet is pretty strong. You showcased but didn't mention how sweep kick really helps you with pistol builds. Combos well with a cannon pistol. You can also preload guns and switch to them rapidly via hotkeys. Cannon pistol with shatter shot to start, immediately switch to Chimera for second shot. In less than a second you inflict Pain, Confusion, and Elemental Vulnerability. Absolutely disgusting. You can probably have at least 4 hotkeys for pistol switching and still have enough slots for everything else you need. Oh, and you should probably have a melee weapon to finish opponents off, lol. For classes, Mercenary and speedster are probably the best, as is Shaman for Lightning Bullet. Honorable Mention to Rogue Engineer for the dodging boost and adding traps to your toolbox(Speedster is overall Better now, I think). Basically, good dodging and sprinting, cooldown reduction(Blood bullet OP, but also for Cool Boon). Don't underestimate the ability to reload using Speedster's free hit negation. You could also use mana ward, but its not as good. For Armor, Dancer set for stam is very good for all the sprinting and dodging you'll be doing. Master Trader is obviously the speed king and has decent stam reduction as well. Enchanted Scholar set is also good. lots of cooldown reduction and mana regen for the cool boon, frost bullet, wind sigil, and blood bullet you'll be using. Well, you likely knew most of this, but I like talking about it, lol.

Glad to hear it. I have completed quite a few full runs of the game and made a guide for just about everything you could think of. Hopefully you will be a true Outward know it all by the time things are said and done lol.

Ah yes good point. I still think vigilante is somewhat useful if you use more of the blood bullet and shatter shot rather than frost bullet. But then again, frost bullet is much more powerful most of the time so its worth using that more often if you can. Honestly frost bullet seems slightly too good. Fight bug type enemies with it and you can one shot them with a buff or two. Super fun to use.

@@SheenShots Obsidian or Chimera Pistol with Frost Bullet might be the send best opening in the game. Some build just can't beat Canon Pistol with Shatter Bullet, Confusion and Pain is just real good. It just really open up Sweep Kick and the knife skills for one.

I've been maining a gunslinger in Outward for over 1000 hours and have had this happen to me a bunch of times as well, but I still can't help but laugh anytime it happens because it looks absolutely hilarious. 😂

Which is odd since the more powerful weapons usually get more durability.

Here are a few things that might help! -Farming for particles always sucks... -The a lot of the unique enemies added with DE drop particles when they die. These are only one time kills but its something. (Horse elemental in grotto of chalcedony, medese boss in sulphuric caverns, and undead warrior in the Necropolis under Berg) Just to name the ones I know of. -The antique platoue has the clock tower puzzle which gets you at least 2 per elemental. (look at the flame on the alter in the middle of the map, then go find the elemental of that color. Tedious and kind of buggy but you get a lot) -Lastly, almost every dungeon now has elementals. The train dungeons in the antique platoue is still the best as there are many of them there. But it can take a while. In the end, I would recommend killing some of the unique bosses and completing the clocktower puzzle. It sucks and hardly ever works for me, but you get a bunch from that. Hope that gives you a bit of help!

This here is one of the greatest combos ever. Super fast inflictions that get you in and out of the fight instantly. And with the impact of the cannon pistol you can usually switch to the dagger easily.

Thank you for watching! Outward is absolutely amazing for many reasons, and its good to see another person get into it. Brand is OP and luckily it goes with every build. Because it inflicts statuses that buff its own damage. So its kind of too good. Luckily I have an interesting Idea called "Blue Range Build" which does use Brand. I will try to work on it soon!

Good point. Smoke pistol and smoke bow are the only easy ways to apply blaze without being near it yourself. And blaze kills remarkable fast.

I also noticed the game files have a vampiric chakram... Since chakrams hit multiple times I think it would have been extremely OP. Essentially granting you health so much you make it really hard to be killed.

One of the easiest ways to abuse the game with no breakthrough points spent and very little equipment. Love that ability and why I prefer iron scrap to bullets most of the time.

Yes this does work. Because bloodbullet only procs one at a time, but it is the only ability guns have to interact with the enemy twice. Suck then shoot. Which means you use obsidian pistol with cold shot first. Then bloodbullet with meteoric, then finally shoot again with the blood bullet itself. Very strong combination that should always apply holy blaze.

@@SheenShots Thank you Sheen! You're the GOAT of Outward. I'm playing this game with my girlfriend and she's going with a cool dagger build as her first time playing. Warrior monk + Rogue + Hermit just to use that early magic she invested in. I wanna totally set her up using pistols, and now I'm soo excited. You can use blood bullet on both the meteoric pistol and the horror pistol to set up some insane burn + poison set up! My rotation was going to be something like this. Cannon + shrapnel -> Chimera + Cold shot -> Meteoric x2 blood bullet -> horror x2 blood bullet -> Torment spam if they're not dead! I was considering going Hermit + Merc + hex mage so I could get a nasty decay build going with blood turret + blood bullet. You ever done this before? :D Oh also I wanna use mana ward to protect me during reloads since it lasts for 4 seconds. Plenty of time to get a bullet in the chamber.

This one is not even something I looked at because is a Caldera enchant. I will go take another look at it but Skooma also said its the best in the game so that means it probably is lol.

When you want to punch someone in the face really hard, but they are too far away... pistol lol.

Definitive doesn't let you main a dagger and a pistol is an off hand I think you mean sword

@@Short-mistressno, I meant daggers. Daggers and pistols are both “offhand” weapons but can and are used as main weapons, and using both together makes for very strong synergies. You don’t hold both at the same time, you swap between them quickly.

@@sk0omaalters96 maybe as a main but the second player can't use daggers until Levant training or I would try your idea. I was going to go for a magic rogue idea but that can't happen unless I'm a main or went and spent a point into dagger training

@@Short-mistressthat’s absolutely not true! I’m sorry you’ve thought that this whole time! You start the game with arguably the best dagger skill…all you need is a simple dagger and dagger slash and you can stun lock most early enemies. Daggers are amazing early game options

@@sk0omaalters96 I played millons of times on co op as second player tried at least three times to do a dagger build not allowed to handle daggers. Maybe I got a broken definitive edition on PS5.

Anything with ethereal damage is pretty darn good I have to agree. And applying hexes is a super convenient way to combine hex magic with guns. Not super into any of the hailfrost weapons, but I think the pistol might be the best like you said, its easy to repair.

You need to do it before starting the third part of your faction quest (just start it right after the Berg meeting) 1) Walk into an inn and overhear a conversation 2) Head to the burning tree in Enmerkar to kill two bandits and read a note (Also kill a bandit towards the cabal wind temple from the tree. He stands near a tent) 3) Talk to the holy mission guy near the oasis in the desert. 4) Walk over to the hives in the desert (the entrance to the small cave on the left not the big one) Read the not there 5) Enter the slums and read a note on one of the buildings. 6) Turn in your info to Cyrene (stands near the mercenary skill tree trainer) 7) Help here defeat the bandits 8) Before walking down the ramp in that cave head left and defeat or take a bribe from the Barron 9) Find the prince and you will be done This is odd the top of my head but I think I got every step. This must be done before the third major quest for your faction starts. If it says you have 3 days just don't talk to you faction leader and head to do this quest instead. Hopefully that helps!

I plan on making two separate lists, tank armor, mage armor. Should be able to make a more balanced list that way.

@@SheenShots ok nice. The tank armor would benefit my sword and shield build. But I was thinking that I should go with the horror set, or the rust set. Cause I made the horror set, and I'm really close to getting the rust set. But I'm unsure which to legacy chest.

Ah this one is kind of cool. So regular bullets and blood bullet can only hit one target. They are nearly impossible to hit without lock-on if you can even do so. However, the frost shot and shatter shot skills do hit multiple targets. They turn your pistol into a shotgun so you need to be close to hit the enemy, bit if you line them up you can hit multiple targets due to the spread. Frost shot in particular is insanely good for this.
