Hello, thanks for the support! The criteria of matchmaking has been a topic of much discussion, but in reality we have very limited visibility into it. We used to power down before islands before, and we got relatively easy matchups, and so we associated it with powering down. Then we realized easy matchups are boring so we stopped powering down, but still got relatively easy matchups. This means that there’s likely something else that determines matchups.

By power down I mean taking off genetics, not hill power. We never did that

I think killing ants doesn’t make much of a difference. You use season ants in the island anyway, so I couldn’t see why they’ll give you a tougher match if you have too many T9

You mean some of my buildings? Yes, it’s to help reduce fungi consumption.

It’s definitely not necessary, but a long time ago fungi was a bit of an issue for me to collect, and blocking of the buildings actually made that issue go away.
