I was on a cruise with my family with my DS in my pocket, I ran up the stairs to the upper deck and my DS fell out of my pocket, down the stairs and slid overboard underneath the handrails. Worst part about this was I had over 500 hours invested in my competitive pokemon Pearl game and I had to say goodbye. #worstdrop

trust me, u dont want the nyko, it scratches ur switch in the future in the back, and front. The joycon frip from the nyko is actually really good, not a scratch in sight.

Real deal: I was once playing my PSP while using the restroom, what portable consoles are for, right? I placed it in my pocket and when I pulled my pants up, it fell out of my pocket, hit the rim of the toilet seat, the disk popped out, split completely down the middle, and the console fell into the... uh... used toilet. Honestly worst day of my life. It was ruined in more ways than 1. #WorstDrop

I think I'll go for the JETech grip case because I use dock, table top, and handheld mode very often. The Mumba case looks great and I bet can take a fall! But I'm worried about scratching the top of the Switch and I'll be removing it very often. I'm very careful with my Switch, so I do believe I'll be fine with a soft case.

This is kind of a #worstdrop, but more-so a #worsttumble. Earlier this winter I was using my Switch while out by a nearby lake, and when I went to set it down next to me it fell and tumbled down the steps and slid onto the frozen lake. The ice was very thin, and because it was so far out I to use a fishing net to slide it back to me, and to my surprise it still works to this day. Needless to say: I’ve not taken it with me to the lake ever since.

I really like the look of the Meo case! It's probably my favourite out of those three.

I got the Nyko Crystal clear case for my Switch System. As for worst accident I ever had with a hand held System was when I was little and I was playing either my GameBoy Color or GameBoy Advanced by the pool and plop it fell in, but amazingly it survived its little dip in the pool because I did not turn it off, I had just changed the batteries too so it did work for many many years after it’s little swim lol from then on if I went in our back yard I put it in a zipper baggy just in case, can never be too careful nowadays.

But wait? Where is my DS?..... It was then, when I realized that I dropped my DS in between the cracks of the car and walkway. "Oh no!" I thought, "how do I get it back?!" I thought. My son (1 year old) pulled the switch off of the entertainment center and it hit our hard wood floors. With no protection. Im just glad the switch is built ford because there was no visible scratches or damage.

I have the Meo Case now. If you are looking for ergonomics then Meo is the perfect case. The back humps do pop out most of the time if you take the Switch out of the case. I have clammy hands and the case has not slipped out of my hands. After seeing the Nyko case, I wish there was a company that made some ergonomic grips for just the Joycons. The grips can slide right in like the Nyko case. I guess we will see.

The Meo Nintendo switch case is by far my favorite case.It's grip is great and makes me play on handheld more.I fit it in my Mario case from the starter pack just fine.If you guys are looking for a case the Meo case is the way to go.

going for the mumba rubber too...the main purpose of a cover is to protect! not look fancy, don't see the point on buying a plastic cover which would break or a silicone one that really just protects against scratches

You think you can show which travel case can hold the mumba heavy case? I recently bought a mumba but I'm worried about getting a travel case that doesn't fit my switch.

I'd use the grip. It's slightly hard to put on, so you'll probaly need to shove the switch into the grip. It can hold up to five games, and, because of how large the grips are, it is very comfortable,. The grips can also hold the Switch on a table, which holds the Switch better than the actual stand itself. However, it is not compatible with docks and cases. To install, on the top, there are two pins on the top and bottom which hold onto the switch, two of them on the top says "OPEN". Put the Switch on the bottom pins, then push the top pins upwards, push the Switch in a little more, and then let go of the pins. This is my favorite case out of all the ones I have.

Why can't they make a hard slim case that allows the switch to go in the dock and be able to to take off the joy cons with the case with it kinda like the third one he showed

The jettech type case is the best. I'm using that type made my MEO. The one I'm usingbhas kick stand n doesn't have grip cover like this. It's amazing when u hold ur Switch using that case. I already drop twice in decent height using that case. My switch had no damage using that case. Fully satisfied using that case. Search for MEO case where u can use the OG kickstand. This case I'm using protect my Switch from two guaranteed broken fall n if u shove it down properly on dock u can use it also.

Dropping expensive things is what I’m good at (apart from eating). I got my new Nintendo Switch which I was saving up for about 9 months. I finally got enough money and bought one. I was so excited so I got home and started playing. I went to get a drink but then suddenly my friend scared me and I chucked my Switch and my drink on the ground. The screen cracked and didn’t work because the drink went all over my Switch. #WORSTDROP #CLUMSIESTINDIVIDUALEVER ( Luckily I got a new one!)

So I'm very thankful for this review and list of recommendations. I have been saved since day one of my LG phone by otter box. I will attempt to replicate the dual case protection that otter box offers for phones. Its a hard plastic case with a rubber sleeve style protection over top. I think combining the nyko with one of the rubber sleeves first mentioned would accomplish this. Just throwing it out there for those who have younger children that they have bought or plan on buying a switch for.

As I am playing my Nintendo switch without any case my daughter jumped towards me out of nowhere so my tendency is to catch her then i just saw may switch with the left joycon still attached tumbling down the floor while the right joycon is still on my right hand. #worstdrop I am just happy that I caught my daughter and my Nintendo Switch still kicking.. Heartbeats on that time. Now I know that I need a Heavy duty case like this Mumba for protection and peace of mind :)

I'm hearing good things about the Smatree Rugged Case. People I had the chance encounter in Facebook who were previously using Mumba switched to it.

I got the nyko thin case for 13 bucks you can't beat it and I don't see my self taking my switch out and about much if at all so protects it just fine for being at home. Keep it looking like new and I'm sure it prolly affects in a good way how hot the switch can get compared to other cases

I was walking to my class from lunch and I put my 3ds in my pocket. I was passing a trash can and I had some trash in that pocket so I reached in to through it away. When I did that, my 3ds slipped right out of my pocket and landed on the right bumper. The fall jammed the right button and shattered the plastic in the surrounding area. To make it worse, my friends proceeded to laugh at me. #WORSTDROP

My #WORSTDROP was when I first received my switch I was clumsy and dropped in onto our hardwood floor but at the last second I gave it a little "hackysack" kick and hit the side of the switch and and saved my precious switch from any damages. I was quite surprised that there was no damage and that my heart didn't explode. Love the channel keep up the hard work.

My first #worstdrop was when I was young. I played on PSP when I was lying on the bed, and my mom called me for dinner and unfortunetly when I get up, my psp slidded up from my hand and it hitted in a corner of a table and fell down on the floor. When I raised it up the screen wasn't broken, but all of back was bented witch a hole in a middle, and when i tried open that back plate, all of the pieces spilled out on the floor (those system things) and I was crying a lot because I have waited for that consle a long time, but thanks God we found a guy who could repair it and after 2 weeks psp was coplete. Until today i remember this all sadness and stress. I still have this psp and it works very well :D.

Jetech case with dbrand carbon fiber skin on joycons and switch is a great combo and fits in most cases and use the hori stand and extended dock cable

Worst dropped I put myself through was throwing my school bag up in the air while my PSP was in there!!! My friends and I tried throwing the bags in the air the highest. Ever since that trauma, I always protect my bag. RIP PSP :(

If I can fit my switch with the Skyrim Clear case PLUS my N3DS xl in the zipper case you showed, you can fit it in there with any of those cases. You just might have to sacrifice some non-essentials in the little zipper pocket.

When you don't seem to be talking about is the ability to remove the Joy con, which is kind of a staple out of the system. Only one of these cases will actually allow the switch to function the way it was meant to be.

Just bought the mamba rugged case I decide to go to slim I don’t think that’s the one highlighted thought I liked it because it fits in the official Nintendo traveler case I thought it was a little hard shaped at first but putting it in the switch and was relatively easy and I liked it thanks for recommending mamba

I've had my switch for coming up on a week. Literally haven't used it undocked because I get flash backs to when I was younger with a psp.... that fateful day trying to balance my soda, nachos, and psp at a football game all for not because the thing slipped. Scratches all along the right side because concrete. So I think I'll just play my switch on my TV for a little bit

I was out side on the farm and I dropped my switch from the top of a gate (5-6 foot gate) and I scratched the back loads getting it in my poket

I don't need to participate, but I think my worst drop was putting my 3DS on my lap in my car, then getting up and watching it in slow-motion (complete with "NOO") fall off my leg and smack onto the concrete. Got a nice little dent in the corner. I don't even remember why I had it out, honestly. All my portables have a bag of some kind to fit in these days.

I'm using the dockable case for the sole reason that it's dockable--It slides easily in the dock! but that mumba case looks awesome Maybe i'll get that once i have a more compatible dock. My only concern is i'm not sure if it's safe to use these dock alternatives

My GBA Sp was dropped on the top of the stairs, and bounced to the bottom, #worstdrop however, it still works to this day, and that was over 10 years ago

My by far, WORST drop was on my switch, I was playing on my bed and I was sitting on the edge of it, when my sister ran to me and caused me to drop it from about 5 ft in the air, and what's worse, was that it chipped the plastic lock on the joy con and now it won't lock properly on the console

My #worstdrop was with my Nintendo DS lite. I took good care of that thing but one day I knocked it off a table and it fell down my stairs. Only damage was to the outside shell. It had a hairline crack in it. Still works and I never dropped it again. I have yet to drop my 3ds or my switch (knock on wood).

I just bought the Nyko case thinking of the dockable feature but after trying on the dock it did not work. The slight thickness on the bottom of the case does not allow proper contact. Unless I am missing something but the case is properly on.

One time I went on a field trip to another state for 4 days and had my DS and DSI with me. I was on my way back on the bus when we hit a bump so hard they popped right out my friend and I hands onto the hard textures floor and broke at the hinges. This wasn't the most brutal in terms of hardware damage as it was still functional but the most scarring for I had put sweat blood and tears into protecting my little babies just to get hit right at the end when I thought we were in the clear #WORSTDROP

I dropped my Switch from roughly a 3 ft height and caused one of the screws to pop out, luckily Nintendo fixed it for free so that was awesome.

Nice job on the video. My #worstdrop was when I was walking out of store with my wife, when a wind gust took her receipt flying. I ran after it and my ds lite came out of my pocket, bounced on the pavement and slid. Thankfully it had a case. The case was scratched, but the device was good to go.

I have a Jetech case, and was wondering if taking it on and off could harm the joy-cons in any way.

I have a question... Is the Mumba hard enough to provide support to the gaps between the joycons and the tablet? My main issue is that while playing handheld sometimes I feel that my joycons twist and even make a little sound that makes me worry so all I really want is something that adds strength to that area. Thanks in advance for the help

Nylon thin case make much more sense. I like docking my switch nd I’m not gonna be removing my case everyday. Plus I want designs and don’t want it covered.

Does the Mumba Heavy Duty works well with the HORI Compact Playstand? Or should you take it off as well before docking?

The #worstdrop I had was with my switch. It fell of the arm rest of the couch. It dented a joy con but not much else. I have been pretty lucky with my handhelds.

My worst drop was with my DSI xl i jumped and it was in my pocket and boom it drooped but it survived

I am kind of a Master of dropping/destroying my phones (yes, more than one). So for the #worstdrop here is my story, my parents gave me a hole new phone for my birthday. 11 months later i unfortunately dropped a gyroscope (toy) on my phone wich broke it. So for my following birthday my parents gave me the exact same kind of phone and that made me very happy. BUT the next day i broke my phone again by dropping a hand spinner/fidget spinner (toy) on it. The screen was broken but my phone was still working. But a few weeks later i dropped my phone in my kitchen and it definitively killed my phone. Now my phone has a huge protection case but my switch is not protected and i am quite scared about a possible drop :/

You guys should test the upcoming Satisfye grip case. I think it will put all of these to shame.

My #worstdrop was with my old ds lite. It fell on the rough surface of the road when I got out from my car. Even with the clamp shell design, the drop manage to mess up the upper display :( It still turns on, but the screen only works at a certain angle. Imagine the torture having to play the console carefully to avoid losing the display halfway through the game!

The #worstdrop I've ever had for any of my consoles is my ds lite, I dropped it and it caused the hinge to snap, but to this day it still works it's just floppy 😣

The JEtech case is my favorite. Could you tell me if it fits in the arcade case by waterfield? Gonna be buying that case and the JEtech would be nice to have it fit.

i have the jet tech, great comfortable case, but now getting rid.. one flaw, the joycon L and R shoulder buttons, that bit of plastic on the top shoulder buttons stops you from pressing them..its so annoying. get a case that is cut out. shame because its a nice grip

If it's not dockable it immediately gets removed from my personal list. I play 85% handheld but removing a case even for that 15% is a royal PITA.

I'd have to say my worst drop of a handheld would have to be when I dropped my Game boy Color down a flight of concrete steps from the 3rd floor. Amazingly, it survived with just a few scratches and dings. Worst thing that happened was one of the cheap batteries I was using exploded. #worstdrop

# worstdrop I had a DS lite and was getting out of the car and it fell on the driveway, one of the hinges broke and made it flimsy. Because of that you had to hold the top screen a certain way to see it. Everything else worked fine surprisingly

I dropped my switch and the zl button broke the right analog click in broke and it made the joycons have the problem where they can be detached without pressing the button

I have never had a terrible drop, but my old DS lite came out of my hands as I was coming down the stairs and broke the hinge as it hit the hard kitchen floor. I stil have it, works mostly fine apart from the dodgy hinge. Thanks for the giveaway chance! #WorstDrop

Buying a case for the regular switch kinda defeats the purpose of the switch. So ID recommend just getting the switch lite and putting a case on it. If you get a regular switch just get a traveling case that has a zipper on it and a screen protector

I had a Game Boy micro, so I would store it in my pocket most of the time. My #worstdrop comes when I had it in my pocket and sat down. my gb slid out and I didnt notice until I got up and stepped on it. To this day, I still have all the tiny pieces in a bag because I never found someone to repair it, nobody worked with gb micro due to its "rarity" here in my country
