Thanks for this explanation. I have seen on the net, an all-in-one cables to convert digital audio to analog. My question is, which solution (all-in-one or DAC small boxes) would be better to select in terms of performance.

thank you for a in-depth review. I have the Sound Blaster and I am trying to see if there is anything better: and you say it’s the best!! I am trying to see if the RME ADI-2 is better. Any thoughts?!

ADI-2 FS (non pro) would be way better in sound than your soundblaster. loots of built in settings to get it to sound the way you want. CONS!!! *no microphone port (this is made for listening to sound) *complicated to use (it´s not a one page maual but a book). * depending on what headphones (cheap) you are useing you might not get the full experience that it has to offer.

My converter works great on TV to Headphone; when I switch TV to Netflex or Hulu I git a fest clicking sound. Any ideas?

In your TVs settings menu, change sound output to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation). This should fix your issue.

Hi, I had mine connected with RCA and it was working fine until I changed th TV which only has Coaxial cable. Any help to get coaxial cable working from TV to converter?

Upgrading your stereo to one with Digital Interface is the "Only" way to get True 5.1 Surround Sound. Analog is only capable of a full frequency and 2 channels. To get 6 channels with surround sound (which is better than 2 channels as you can never have enough speakers lol) you need digital signal. Using one of these DAC, or taking a Analog Signal to Digital converter is a great way to connect your computer to your stereo and or flatscreen.

excellent video, a question friend... how do I know if my receiver needs DAC? or what characteristics should I look for to buy a more powerful DAC that my receiver can have .. my receiver is Onkyo HT-R693 and my Blu-ray player has its hi ref audio sticker it is a Sony X800M2, thanks

looked up the manual online. Your reciver has a built DAC. use that instead. any of the DACs in this video can only handle stereo and not surond sound wich your reciver can do whit its built in DAC (might have to use HDMI cable for that instead of SPIDF). plus your build in DAC is most likely better than most of what was featured in the video.
