The price of Scotch whisky has gone up just over the last 2-3 years, and as a result, $60 doesn't buy what it used to. With familiar entry-level favorites now costing more, the sub-$60 price category is home to a lot of lesser whiskies and some hidden gems. In this video, I'll share my Top 5 picks and discuss what they can tell us about finding quality whiskies at this budget price level.

Nice video 👍 There are several more bottles I'd add to this list: Loch Lomond 12 - $35 Glencadam 10 - $40 Benromach 10 - $40 Craigellachie 13 - $50 Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 - $50 Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 -$55 Glencadam 13 - $55 And if you're in the USA, certain malts from Total Wine and More, particularly Islay Gold Lorcan for $28 (on sale), Scarabus Batch Strength for $44, both probably being Caol Ila, should not be dismissed; and there are others.

Came down here to mention the Glencadams, the Craigellachie 13, Scarabus and the Loch Lomond 12 as well as Naked (Grouse) $35, Monkey Shoulder $35, Kirkland (Costco) Islay Single Malt $40, Cotswolds (English) $55, Old Pulteney 12 $45, Deanston 12 $55 and Total Wine's Mash Cut $30.

you're so lucky you can get Glencadam and Benromach 10 year at $40. In my area they're $57-$62. Those Glenmorangies are at a great price as well.

Nice review ! I can mention at least two excellent whiskies 40% ABV , chill filtered : Anc Cnoc 12 and Edradour 10 Under 60 dollars you must have Ledaig rioja sinclair series !!

So great you did this video. With the tariffs and pandemic the Ardbeg 10 year and Bunna 12 year are no longer under $60. In my area here are the 5 Scotch Whiskys you can get at under $60. We have some overlap. Bruichladdich Classic Laddie at $52; Arran 10 year at $55; Kilchoman Machir Bay: $53; Naked Grouse at $33; Tomatin 12 year at $36.

Ardbeg is off the rocker, I scoffed at paying $45 for the 10. It’s $50 where I am and and I never buy it now. The whole thing that was nice about the brand was it was a cheaper Islay malt compared to Lagavulin. Not anymore sadly.

I can get Ardbeg 10 for ~$52 at several stores in SC. Have you found Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair, it's 46% NCF and no age for about $45. Only found it a Total Wine, easily beats anything at the price point. For $55 Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 is also hard to beat.

superb channel, really helps out answering the burning question a beginner might have. you deserve way more subs. better sound can surely help, overall loudness is low, while talk is too quiet compared to the effects, it's just a minor mixing / mastering issue no biggie. for some reason the whiskytubers is a community where everyone is really nice/funny/helpful. keep it up!

Appreciate these recommendations. Agree that most 40% abv are lacking and that alone can keep me from trying out some bottles. Also noticed lower abv in my US liquor store bottles than touted in fairly recent Scottish reviews. Nice to have some variety available in a less expensive bottle(s). Never know where one’s mood, weather, etc. is gonna set my hand on this or that bottle

What a joke 60 dollar scotch whisky in Ontario is a non event. In the past few years Scotch has become to expensive. Your prices are still a bargain compared to what we pay here in the Great White North... Over taxed and a useless Globalist federal Government.
