I tried the Essence mascara (green one) and it was one of the worst mascaras that I have ever tried in terms of smudging. I looked like a panda within hours! I have super oily skin, just like Nikkia. It just goes to show how different everyone’s skin is.

Adriana Difini I tried the blue one, it’s the same, at the end of the day I have black specs on my face. So what I do, I top if with another mascara. Must be Essence formula.

I bought the Caution one for my mum who has short lashes post chemo and it’s been amazing for her! And I just bought the Essence Volume Stylist 18 hour hold and the get big lashes volume curl and there’s zero smudging or flaking even in this crazy humid weather. Plus they’re $6 or less!

Totally agree on the MAC one. I bought it because I heard it was good for the lower lash line but I eventually realised it's fantastic on the upper lashes for very respectable length and volume without clumpiness. :)

Always giving great and solid tips. I used to have issues with mascaras, reason why I didn’t use it for years. Until I start to follow your channel and advices some years ago. MAC one works just perfect for me. I’ve bought it in different countries and they are just the same. Thanks for you advice and giiiirl, your eyes look gorgeous. I agree with all of these except the Essence. That one transferred on me. LOVE the Hourglass Caution mascara. I've been through probably 6 minis and 2 full sized already. The best!

Thank you for this video. I have been a die-hard user of Dior Addict It-Lash because it doesn't transfer on me and gives me great length (plus the brush really separated my lashes so so well) BUT they discontinued it. grrrrrr So now I am on the hunt for a new mascara and I appreciate your reviews especially because I too have oily skin. God HG is on the list. It’s my favorite mascara of all time will never be without. I have weird brow bones that kinda droop and oily skin there too and mascara ALWAYS smudged there. The first ever mascara that hasn’t.

I’m very oily within 30 minutes and I blot several times a day AND I’m on tretinoin 🙄for reference. do you use eye shadow primer (not concealer)? Even if I don’t wear eyeshadow I still put a little bit on to keep the eyelid less oily and it helps the mascara not transfer.

I also love the MAC one, not for my upper lashes I think the brush is too thin for my upper lashes, but it's a DREAM for the lower lashes and doesn't smudge. Highly, highly recommend for lower lashes! Also the Telescopic from L'oreal, it's great for both upper and lower but especially lower again. For my upper lashes I love the Voluminous Carbon Black by L'Oréal (as another lady mentioned in the comments) and I also recently fell in love with Total Temptation from Maybelline. I actually read reviews on that one just for curiosity and people seem to be divided on that one, many people said they didn't like the formula and it made their lashes clumpy. I love the Total Temptation, it gives so much volume as well as lenght. Awesome mascara IMO. I recently purchased the Snapscara (waterproof) from Maybelline after reading good reviews, excited to try it out...I'm always on the hunt for amazing mascaras since I almost never wear false lashes anymore 😁xx

Love the Essence and Tarte ones too! I also like the Essence in the purple tube. Brush is curved tho. My new fave is Maybelline Falsies Lashlift. Bam! Honorablr mention to Loreal Lash Paradise and Cover Girl Exhibitionist as well. Thanks as always for sharing. Gonna try that Mac one for sure!

THANK YOU for addressing the smudge factor and different eye types! There are 6 (!) women in my family with small, oily, hooded eyes and every time one of us finds their favorite mascara it gets discontinued (most of us generally circle through Covergirl and Maybelline mascaras). Thank you for listing both the cheaper end of the scale and ones like Tarte that are supposed to be better for you. I’m looking forward to trying these!

I love the lash princess mascara, but I also have very oily skin and it does smudge on me. My suggestion to the ones with the same issue, try the Telescopic mascara on the outer lashes and use the essence one for the rest, it works for me.

I loooove Revitalash mascara, never had issues with this one. I believe this is the best one out there which suits my oily skin. Laura Geller Dramatic mascara is also good, if you want fake lashes affect.

I adore the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara and I’ve recently bought my 14 year old daughter the Maybelline Colossal lash and she loves it. She has really sensitive eyes and skin and it’s the only one that doesn’t seem to bother her

I love Tarte's lights camera action mascara. I even keep it in my purse for days I forget to put on makeup. However, I usually do have some smudging/transfer under my eyes about halfway through my 11 hr day. Not a lot, but enough to wipe off with a wet paper towel before going back to work. Lately though, I've hooked on KVD's Go Big or Go Home mascara.

The mascara from Essence smudges on me and by the end of the day I look like a raccoon. I like the Maybelline The colossal big shot too and also Lash sensational from them is very good. And of course Lash paradise by L'oreal is a very good mascara.

I normally double my mascaras. I use the L’Oreal Baby Roll mascara first and then add a coat of the Maybelline Big Shot mascara straight away. I find they work really well together to add length and volume.

I have the black & green Essence mascara. Although it's a great mascara, I wouldn't say it's budge proof. I have fairly long lashes and it does end up smudging under my eyebrows throughout the day. Nothing too bad though and it's not a deal breaker but it does definitely smudge a little bit.

I tried the Essence green one but it transfers so much on my lower lash line! It does make my lashes look amazing, though. Out of all the mascaras I’ve tried NOTHING is smudge proof like the Loreal double extend beauty tubes mascara (the red and white). It is impossible for it to transfer. I was just looking for a mascara with one step only... but I think there is none.

@@theizzyresides8823 the essence was only the mascara, no primer. The loreal had one end (the white) as the other and the other end is the mascara. Also, I recently tried the Maybelline Sky Hight mascara and love it! It does not tansfer on me enter. Just another option to try out and see what works for you. This one is only 1 step, no primer, only the mascara.

I use Maybelline Super Stay. I also use Napoleon Perdis which has a great small brush to do my lower lashes. Two no one talks about, but both work for me.

I really enjoyed the Essence mascara, loved the brush, but it smudged on my eyes after a few hours and usually mascaras only do that during summer time or in the end of a loooong day because my lids are a bit oily.

I love rimmel xxtreme mascara and benefit they're real, two mascaras that i find dont smudge, transfer or flake, maybelline does have a few mascaras that make my lashes long and thick but their formulas always irritated my eyes unfortunately for sone reason, might just have to try the others though! Ps i heard w7 mascaras are brilliant too

The MAC does smudge on me ! But then a lot of mascara's do and I think it is because of menopauze, since I never had that problem earlier. I do like the caution from hourglass and the volume mascara from Chanel is super !

The essence works only if you apply a primer, the Milani on the purple bottle does the trick, also the voluminous superstar xfiber in the purple dual tip from L’Oréal would do the trick as well and there’s no smudging or flaking. You will love the results, I have very short and flat lashes.

Nikkia, please try Maybelline falsies mascara. It’s brand new and I’m in love with it but want your take!

My fave Maybelline is The Falsies Push Up Drama. And I just discovered Eyeko Lash Alert, which is fiberized and does not budge just like It Cosmetics Superhero (another fave), but it has a curved stiff comb brush like Roller Lash(which transfers terribly on me). Another good one I found is BH cosmetics Stellarlash.

Nikkia, do you have any suggestions for eyeliners for oily skin?

My current favourite is Maybelline big shot shayla collab! I wish they had waterproof. I always prefer waterproof mascaras as I have oily lids and my eyes always get watery at some point during the day. I might get the original big shot waterproof next time. My other faves are Revlon volume+length magnified mascara and Loreal lash paradise. They have different bristles than big shot but they do deliver volume and smudge proof which I really appreciate. I have yet to try essence mascaras.
