Wii, PSP, XBox, Nintendo DS, Game Boy (loose) and GBA (loose), ... You can't really say a system's great to collect for right now just because the shovelware's cheap -- You can say that for any system. For instance, PS1 is not great to collect for right now if you want some games that are worth a damn. I'm not saying there's not cheap-o gems because there are (that's true for almost every system), but that certainly doesn't mean it's a PS1 buyer's market right now.

The one console that should be on that list is the PSP. The games are so cheap right now and even some of the really good ones you can get for $10 or less CIB. Hell even most of the RPGs go for $20 or less (there are some that stray from that like Hexyz Force).

Your videos have a very comforting charm to them, and youve inspired me to start a collection of my own. I really appreciate what you do here on YT man, Good to see you back :D

Nintendo DS is a nice system to start collecting for IMO. It may be a little harder to find CIB games, but there are gems you can find under $10 a pop.

Nice to see you back Pete! I know you stream now and ive stopped by a couple times, but I like you more as a content creator rather than a streamer. Also, great topic for the video. I only recently got a little more hardcore into game collecting, id say a couple months to a year ago(thanks to my discovery of LGR Thrifts). Its crazy, I had a random xbox original with no cords or anything that I think someone gave my dad for free or something and now I got both controller types, both component and composite hookups and the number of games is over 20! So yea, im pretty much right with you on the consoles to collect for.

Got a Ps2 with 11 games, 1 Controller, DVD kit with remote and IR adapter, 2 memory cards and the network adapter for HDD usage for 40€ which is a good deal in my country since Ps2's go for more than 50€ just for the system in good condition.

Great video! My top consoles to collect for right now: PS3, Dreamcast, Wii, DS, PS2. I've almost been able to complete these collections in the last few years.

Great picks, Pete. I've personally been digging into the original XBOX and PS1 libraries quite a bit. On the XBOX, asides from a handful of games rising in price (OutRun 2006, for instance), most titles are $10 or less.

Pete is back!!! This was a really cool topic. I definitely have to keep a tight budget these days as I'm married and have an apartment. I buy maybe 1 or two new games a month and then a handful of below 20 dollars games. It's still fun to be a collector even though some of the more rare games are out of my reach for now.

I like Collecting Retro games!! Even though I do downloads from Virtual Console etc. I buy find cartridges that were never on the VC such as Mortal Kombat, TMNT, X-men: Mutant Apocalypse etc. Anyways it's great to see you back Pete.

Great video, Pete! Good to have you back. I live in Ireland and I started collecting about 1 year ago and it's been so much fun collecting for all of last gen's system. Wii, PS3 and DS in particular are very, very easy to collect for here. I bought a 360 and started to collect for that too, very cheap. PSP isn't as easily available, but it's out there too. It's kinda difficult to collect for systems previous to last gen, though. Unless it's for PS2. I bought like 20 games for it recently for 40 to 50 euro. Great stuff. Easily available and very cheap. GameCube is there but is quite expensive, and original Xbox is rare, but cheap enough. GBA though? Good luck with that. And then going for generations older than that? Outside of a rare seller at a car boot sale, pretty much out of luck unless you're looking online. So like PS1? fuggedaboutit! Still though, great time to be a collector in general. Now's really the time too, because nowadays games don't come with manuals, they require hard drive installs....they're becoming more and more digital so...enjoy it while you can!

dorrOMG FeelsGoodMan. I totally agree with PS1, keep finding so many interesting and obscure gems most of which are cheap. Last gen is great too, so many great 360/PS3 games and they are just dirt cheap. Glad to see you back on KZfaq Pete! :D

Great video as always. If you feel like making more videos, I'd love to see more collection videos. Some id definitely want to see are Original Xbox, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, and perhaps some updates to ones from the past like Xbox 360 and DS.

Great topic and spot on the recommendations. I've actually been collecting the PS1 and GBA a lot in the last year for the reasons you stated. For GBA, gotta do CIB. The games look great in their boxes and so many incredible titles.

Great video! I'm currently building up my Wii collection thanks to the cheap prices on most games. I'd love to get the late run Nintendo Selects versions where possible, but that's not such a common occurrence on the second hand market.

As you can see by my profile picture I like collecting for the Nintendo Wii. Once of the best consoles in my opinion and the games are so freaking cheap now. I have a question for you. I like the Genesis a lot and I was wonder if you can recommend any good racing games for it? My wife is a racing game fan and that's all she well play with me lol.

I think collecting for the PS1 is right now where NES collecting was 4 or 5 years ago. So many great undiscovered game and developers were experimenting and testing the limits of the system. They weren't playing it safe like more modern systems. GBA is great because a GBA SP is backlit and also nets you access to GB and GB color games. I've never really checked the Lynx out, I'll have to look into it. great video man, looking forward to more. I'll post back if I think of good video ideas.

I don't really see much of a collector's market for the PS3, 360, and later systems. Because a lot of games rely on online features, patches, and updates that require the consoles' servers which will eventually shut down.

The obscurities makes this video great! I've been on a PS3 kick myself! Also, it looks like your backlog is just as bad as mine!
