Hey everyone, did ya miss me! This summer has been so hectic I have barely found a moment to breathe. I finally found some time to record a video that I have been wanting to make for a while now so here it is! If you are coming to Purdue here are a few things I wish I would have known as a freshman. Everything will be alright because you really did choose the best school ever! If this video helped you at all be sure to let me know so I can do a part 2 on my channel. As always thank you SO much for the continuous support,

I love how you started with “moving one hour and a half away” (or something like that) and if I choose/decide to go to Purdue, I’d literally be crossing the Caribbean to go over there. (I’m from Puerto Rico and I’m really scared rn) reason why im watching this video and others like this one rn... 😭

I'm from Brazil and I kinda get it. We'll be fine, don't worry too much :). There's a lot of cool stuff at purdue, and you also won't be alone.

Such a kick in the pants to watch and read the comments. It is so different than when I went in the 1970's. Every dorm (that I remember}had cafeterias. I lived in Shreve and now you have to go across to Earheart for cafeteria? Completely different system. Now there are Starbucks?! There was pizza delivery for off campus food and that was about it. Anyway, I agree with MAKE AS MANY FRIENDS AS YOU CAN... FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! It will change your life. Good luck to you all!!

I watched your video because my daughter's first choice is Purdue. I hope she meets people there as nice as you appear to be. Hope your life has gone well since you made these videos - you're helping people far into the future.

Take back hillenbrand came in clutch for me. First, go make two quesadillas. While they're cooking, put some formless food in the bottom. Then put on the quesadillas in the middle and you should have room for some sandwiches or food that will hold it's shape, and fill the gaps with sunflower seeds or raisins. I'd get a couple pounds of food, and it served as a week's worth of breakfasts. Hungry on a Sunday evening? Get to St. Thomas Aquinas Center for their $3 dinner at 5:30. It is always fresh and delicious, and I made some of my best friends there. Best Student Organization: Boilermakers for Life, a group dedicated to defending the defenseless.

Oh yes, definitely the 5th point - I am an international student, and on a visit to Purdue these days - having a couple sets of great friends always always makes you feel at home even after many years. What impressed me most during college: Purdue orchestra experience, and those great away-home friends. I am not saying academical commitment is unimportant, but you will realize it will be much harder to make real friends, and get "real" chunks of time for whatever you like outside your research work (as a grad student, seriously). Make a good sets of friends, do whatever you want to outside of classes with great passion - that is what college supposed to be like - and in the rest of your life you will eventually know what true passion is, and how to transfer it into your research work.

It's 2:30am and I'm hitting that back to college sad hump. That said, there's a resource online that Purdue has where places looking to hire can post their positions. Check it out - it's where I got my first job (both ever and at Purdue). My interview was over the phone and went along the lines of "So uh, how was your summer?" and "Do ya drink coffee?" I doubt most interviews will be like that, but places are always hiring. Particularly the coffee shops.

Thank you so much for the video! It was an amazing one! So, from what I have been told so far about PU that it is very difficult and challenging. Is it for the top students only? How do students survive there? It is been so many years since I graduated from high school and I plan to go to PU for my electrical engineering (BS)
