If you want more pars, but struggle with less than solid shots either from the fairway or off the tea then let's get you better compression. This translates to more energy when you strike the ball. Energy can be measured with smash factor. We want to increase our smash factor to create better compression. Compression creates spin with a penetrating ball flight that helps you keep your ball on target with good distance. So, let's get to it.

Hi Christina great video and seeing your students improve is testimony that you are a great teacher on and off You Tube. Your newly taught Magnificent Butt move of Golf combined with what you taught several years ago; Zip Zip ( pressing my upper arms against the chest as I bend from my hips and slightly flex my knee) with the ‘zippers’ breaking only at the finish of my swing; give me the ultimate smash factor a 75 year old man could possibly hope for. And your great instructions books I received a couple of Christmases ago remain always in my bag. Cheers 😃❤️👍⛳️🥂

well, in the backswing heel pad compression on the shaft with the left hand, when the club reaches parallel to the target line, is key. and, right clavicle rotation, in the hitting area, is key. and, the left side of the right forearm has to load into the clavicle in the start of the downswing to activate the clavicle to enable to turn thru towards the target.

When you are at the point in the down swing where your knees are neutral I was told that the right heel should get in in front of the right toe as you move to impact.. You don't seem to do that... That's one of my swing thoughts and if you can explain that sequence it would be helpful.. I follow one or two instructors and you are by far the best... Thank you for your great videos.. I have a couple of the sequence video's saved (in and out) and view them often..

Both of your knees are bent.you have to be young or strong to keep your knee exact for impact. This is why I use a single leg with pelvic tip to easily get great flush contacts. Bent knees is a wishing game. Unless you are a exceptional athlete.

When you’re talking about smash factor, is there another component to that factor? Is it the swing speed transference of energy to ball speed?
@MorePars

Higher smash factor = higher ball speed. In the end, it's all about ball speed!

I'd be more interested in the name of the course than any of these tips. It's not the swing, stance or grip that dictates compression. You're talking about things that happen 90 to 180 deg away from the ball. Compression is dictated by what happens when the club hits the ball. What course is that?
@MorePars
@MorePars Жыл бұрын
Yes... but in order to have the best chance for compression the other elements need to be in place - cause and effect...Sedona Golf Resort!

@@MorePars not to give you a hard time about this but personally I've worked pretty hard this past year on my ball-striking and I can tell you from personal experience that there's good ball-striking and bad ball-striking and high-percentage ball-striking and low-percentage ball-striking and no matter how far you hit the ball what matters first is getting the ball into play, second distance and whatever you need to do to get good distance has to come second to keeping the ball in play. I don't think that it takes 15+ years of experience to realize this. This is something that you learn in the first 3 weeks of playing golf. It's just that most players with years of experience forget about the importance of staying in play and pursue distance...they do get frustrated by hitting "short" drives and irons, and always feel slightly beyond their range...wishing they could just scare balls like the long hitters they see...and because they think that they hit balls into play on a reliable basis but they "really ought to be hitting the ball farther". That's absolute nonsense. But it takes a lot of lost strokes and lost balls to knock that nonsense out of a golfers' head once it lodges in there like a worm. The irony is that once you begin to play for better control, better feel for the ball, the club, the shot that you're trying to hit, the lie of the hole...better consistency...just even "not losing so-many balls"...not losing *any* balls...once you stop hitting bad shots? Oddly-enough you tend to hit the ball farther also. Because you're hitting better shots. And once you start to hit better shots more consistently? The distance will come. The fact that you're hitting good shots come from the fact that you're making good contact. Consistently. This isn't due to a swing tweak. This is due to knowing what works. Finding what works. And making it happen. When players focus on swing *style* they are not finding what works. They are being told what works. That often leads them to ignore what is actually happening in terms of the shot...and that is a bad thing. They then think that they will hit good shots when they get the swing style down correctly. And that is just unrealistic. Never focus on what happens in the setup, backswing and downswing to the point that you ignore what happens after you hit the ball. And the simple truth is that to hit good shots you need to know what needs to happen at impact to get good results. And since the term "good shot" is very loosely defined and a "good shot" can take many forms, there's no one way to setup, backswing or downswing to get good shots. But 100% of hitting a good shot is based on what happens at the clubface at impact.
