Great tips Dan , I’m always looking round the cheaper shops to look for stuff that could be useful for my modelling, always get a light bulb moment and think I wonder if I could use that 👍

Thanks Richie. Anything that chips away at the cost is a good thing.

Tips #2, #4, and #5 are great, and I had not ever thought about #2, or #4. Great information. Thanks for sharing.

Revell can be anything from last week to last century in their boxings, at least airfix is honest! Another tip for saving money is to use nail files for sanding and coffee stirers for paint

They never used to be. I remember hitting the hobby shop and getting an airfix kit several years ago with a pig in a dress. It's good they have moved to boxing the old kits as vintage classics though, I know what to avoid.

That's true about Revell, but a little bit of Scalemates research usually reveals the truth. However, some of the Monogram reboxings can be decent. Airfix have upped their game in recent years and continue to improve.

Hi Dan, long time. Good video mate. Love to see a video of a tour of your current Modelling Cave…..teasing us with all those models in the background. I personally feel your biggest savings tip is on saving on use of razors and blade refills😉😊 Cheers, Scott

Ha ha I like it - razors are way to expensive I agree!!

Great vid , the only money saving tip I can think of . Is to think outside the box , and don't stick to just modeling products, like liquid mask for example

I like it - lots of general art supplier work just as well as modelling special tools etc

Hi Dan, I have judt come across your channel and subscribed, I enjoyed this tip video, another item I use, mainly for super glue and mixing test colours is beer bottle tops, you must drink the contents first of course, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia

I like your thinking, anything that gets more beer gets my vote.

Great tip here. Build your Stash don't add to it.

Really like the idea - wish I could do it. Although I know for my stash I can build it in about 10 years, but yeah sometimes you have to build what you've already got.

What do you do for the chrome parts where you dechach. What chrome paint do you use to replace the missing chrome?
@TheDanCave
@TheDanCave 6 ай бұрын
For chrome parts I would normally strip in bleach and completely re-paint. Sometimes if the attachments are hidden I would leave them as is, but more normal is to repaint after stripping.
