Another enjoyable and informative video. I especially liked you promoting the use of a brush. Like millions of others I was very sceptical about brushes on paintwork, but in one of your other videos, Ivan, you used a brush and I think you said (if my memory serves) if used sensibly with plenty of lubrication it wouldn't scratch the paint. Since then I now use a Vikan* brush on the underside of the car (sills/rockers and other hard to reach places) and a Chemical Guy's brush on the wheels, all without any scratching problems. So I was delighted to see Nick using the brush as well. I have, since discovering rinseless washing, been using sponges. Where some people use mutiple mitts or towels, I use mutiple sponges: the Ultra Black on the top of the car and windows and lights. BRS or BGS on the main body of the car, and the Legacy on the lower half, as it is easier to grip when crouching down with little danger of dropping it thanks to its shape. By the by: A couple of weeks ago I got my first bottle of Ceramic Gloss. I believe it to be the best drying aid I've used and it puts a great shine of the car as well. You are on to a winner with it, so please don't ever change the formula. * I haven't come across a softer brush than the Vikan. It is a pleasure to use.

What are your thoughts of using distilled white vinegar as a glass cleaner?? I had a situation where I had water spots that I didn't remove for a few days then I used chatgpt to help me solve this with home products and it 100% worked. It recommended 1:1 ratio Distilled white vinegar and water. I've never seen glass look so very clean with any other product like this before its like the glass is not even there anymore, this also worked great with the side mirrors. I was thinking of even adding a bit of ONR to make it safer to us with microfiber towel or sponge. Once water spots are gone I wash once again with car soap and apply rain-x to protect & make hydrophobic again.

I got a question, you know those youtubers that say 1 step is 50-70% swirls removal, and 2 step is 70 to 90. What would you say in that case for your wool pad cutting ability for one step and wool then yellow for 2 step? and yellow pad alone probably just works great as a paint enchancement.
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial Ай бұрын
Percentages are hard to determine. On many cars the wool pad is all you need. The gold pad is a great one step pad.

I have 3 different questions 1. A waffle pad on a flat surface will touch less surfaces compared to a flat surface, but if you press the pad hard to the surface it will be the same But if the entire pad is covered with polish, you have a bigger surface covered with polish with the waffle pad When you polish on a flat surface, X procent of the pad is not in contact with the paint, and that pad Heat and pressure will increase the procent in contact with the paint And that surface now contains unused polish, if you now polish over corners and edges, this surface will come into contact with the paint So there are many variables to take into account. It would be great with a more technical video where you explain why and how in more detail 2. I have seen videos where Rupes shows how to prime their polishing pads You make draw a + on the pad with the polishing agent Then, on a black car hood, they show you press down the machine with medium pressure and speed 2 for 20 to 30 seconds This is to spread the polishing agent and get the pad warm If you compare this with the 5-5-5 method, you would think that the area that has now been treated will be different to the rest of the paint on the car Won't a "blank" spot appear there? 3. What polisher will cut the fastest? 5 inch pad and 32 mm orbit, or 21 mm orbit an 6 inch pad? A last thing Here in Norway people believe we have to use a degreaser to get the car clean And one company working with Feynlab coating tell me i have to use acid before i coat the car This guy are the European trainer for Feynlab I want to use all clean, but is not easy to get it to Norway in the 4 gallon What is the right answer?
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your questions 1. Try both for yourself, you will then appreciate the value of a waffle pad vs a flat pad. 2 pad priming is a great way to sell you polish. 3 about the same when you factor in surface area vs stroke ( what company has a 32mm stroke?) If washed regularly no need for harsh chemicals.

A mobile detailer. I'm doing first, a rinseless wash, and then the wheels. I really want to not use my generator and pressure washer on the wheels because my generator is loud. I'm looking at the rinse kit cube, but it is expensive. A good way to rinse the wheels without using your pressure washer when doing a rinseless wash would be awesome. Can you compare the rinse kit with your keg for this job? If you are not sure what the rinse kit is, please look at it.

I made mine out of a Harbor freight 2 gallon sprayer and a plastic rv blow out plug. The small end goes into the hose and the large end connects directly to a regular spray nozzle. I glued mine in the hose to make sure it doesn’t come loose. Cost me less than 20 dollars.

I have a question unrelated to this video, but you know, I'm really enjoying the rinseless process so I'm really trying to understand its limitations. I've seen you guys use various chems in a rinseless wash but I wanna see where to draw a line on "too much". Let's say I have a coated vehicle, I do my pre-treatment, I do my wash, but then I also need that little extra punch and I go for a second round using an acidic shampoo as a contact wash to unclog the coating. Will I be safe by just rinsing everything off with a pump sprayer and my rinseless or is it too much of an aggressive product to risk it? 🤔
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 4 ай бұрын
If you’re coating is masked by mineral accumulation, wash as normal, then use DIY Detail Water Spot Remover , its much more effective and efficient than an acidic shampoo. Yes you can rinse it off using DIY Detail Rinseless Wash, but a hose would be best.

Theres a fellow youtuber out there that claims the damp pad can create inconsistent paint correction, by effecting the way the polish creme is suppose to work. Whats your thoughts on that? I also noticed the often high speed rotation from cleaning after every section is really hard on the pads and seems to wear them out fast, the foam itself and the Velcro. Any feedback appreciated as always!
