These people are usually close by the beach, there isnt time for them to know what's going on via radio or news unless they have a live camera footage of the beach. It's not like the wave will take hours to get to them

To be fair a mega tsunami happening is very unlikely if not impossible. In movies tsunamis are humongous waves as tall as a skyscraper. But in real life tsunamis are nowhere near that size

Real tsunamis aren’t giants like the ones in movies, they can be but its very rare, your steps are very accurate, a remember most tsunamis are caused by earthquakes, follow survival rules for those too!

All of these are entirely realistic. Tsunami like these can come and destroy an entire city or state. Meteor that land in thr water that are huge will make a bigger wave then what you see here and destroy a whole country or even the whole the continent leaving everything in ruins. What is unreliable is the warnings. A super volcano can also cause a tsunami exactly of this magnitude which is why they always are being watched and monitored even thou we can't prevent our deaths.
