i say if you are filthy rich and can afford very expensive toys and other material possesions go for it. on the other hand how about helping those who are less fortunate? the homeless population of america and the world is growing larger by the year..mansions and extremely expensive cars is not my idea of a big thrill.i could feed 10.000 starving children with the money that is spent on a single mansion or car. remember folks it is other people,s money that made you rich so naturally you should give half of it back to worthwhile causes /charities.i guess the need to brag or compete with eachother will prevent you from doing the right thing=obsession and addiction to making and hoarding money..

@Al Williams. Yes, 1 car or house could pay for two to 100 meals for 10,000 people. However those who have businesses create livelihoods for countless people and an indefinite number of meals for their families. Most of them hopefully make significant charity contributions. The object of those contributions usually would never take place but for willful gifts from such people. Several of the billionaires listed have taken the pledge to leave half of their fortune to charity. My respect goes to those who reinvest in their communities, however defined, and those who build generational wealth. My contempt goes to any who strain for an ostentatious lifestyle and are unable to hold on.
