Holy hell that was a trip :D Absolutely foreseeable that Idol would take the top spot. Still sad some of my favourites didn't make it into the top 20, but it is what it is. Absolutely looking forward to the ending version of this AND for the next year and all it's amazing openings to come!

This was a great year for openings! My personal favorites of the year: Trigun Stampede, Undead Unluck, Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion, Skip and Loafer and Hell's Paradise

Both cour 1 & 2 opening from Dr. Stone, Vinland Saga & ofc JJK made it in the list (yes it's rare to have two OP song in a year as anime series nowadays tend to just have one season or split cour). Glad MHA S6 OP2 still in this list..

Can't be too upset with these results, 28 of my favorites made it into the top 50. A shame that Helck OP2 isn't popular even tho it has a banger song. Sad to see Under Ninja and Heretical Last boss not make it as well as Arknights, Gene of AI, Shut in Vamp, Vending machine and 100 girlfriends not there. Overall I'm pretty satisfied. This might be my favorite year for openings in terms of quantity of good ones.

Definitely a list lmao. SPECIALZ is honestly way better than Ao no Sumika for me but considering they’re from the same show it makes sense that they’re around the same spot. I was hoping the hype of the Shibuya arc (plus SPECIALZ becoming a meme) would bring it above Ao no Sumika but I get it that Ao no Sumika is an easier to digest song. I feel like the bottom half of this list makes it seem like this was a bad year for OPs but there was a lot of good stuff imo that just wasn’t for popular shows. Natsuake by WANIMA, Naiiteinda by flumpool, Starting Over by sumika, Amaryllis by BLUE ENCOUNT, Halo by yama, Usotsuki by Leo Ieiri, Cantabile by Novelbright, etc. Would’ve been nice if GOLD by PEOPLE 1 and Ai Wana Muchuu by MAISONdes were in the top half but the shows weren’t popular this year so it makes sense

I can't really gush about Kien Romance adequately to represent how great it is. WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO BY THE WAY!!!! I guess I'm not surprised 100 Girlfriends didn't make the list, it's not the kind of OP that gets success with the crowd that votes here, but it's high quality for an OP sung by the VAs and the visuals are really funny. Tearmoon Empire is another 'character OP' that's gone underappreciated despite DESU WA power. the music video for the song is so funny. Oh yeah, and I'm not sure how Shut-In Vampire Princess missed the list. Red Liberation is a certified fripSide banger, might be my favorite OP they've ever done. not surprised 16bit Sensation missed, but it's quite good and super-underrated. other unfortunate misses: Reign of the Seven Spellblades. Heretical Last Boss Queen, Insomniacs After School, Raeliana, The Goddesses of Cafe Terrace, Onimai, Campfire Cooking in Another World, MagiRevo, Handyman Saitou, In/Spectre s2, The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, High Card, Chillin in My 30's, The Fire Hunter, Endo and Kobayashi Live! I don't absolutely love that my own tastes skew pretty mainstream, but the way I look at it is that I like really well-produced, highly arranged songs and opening visuals, and generally higher tier productions have the wherewithal to commission or obtain the right song and make the best possible accompanying visuals. I also don't have the same fondness a lot of people have for songs that sound way too much like other songs. A song needs an 'x factor' for me. Like Undead Murder Farce having that really crunchy, elaborate production, as a product of being from a K-pop girl group. or Heavenly Delusion having the singers absolutely belt it out in a desperate sounding, raw, sad way. Or just, you know, JUNNA being JUNNA. or everything going on with Shangri-La Frontier. also funny enough, Oshi no Ko and Frieren hurt each other for me by coming in the same year and exposing to me how limited a range YOASOBI seems to have.

No love for Tomo-Chan, especially with how well it tells the story of the show without being a spoiler fest. I have a sad. 100 Kanojo missing out is also a bummer, but I kind of get it, this year was pretty stacked. And holy hell, Magical Destroyers has got to be one of the most polarizing OPs ever. You either love it, or (in my case) just find it grating and dissonant. It's... different, I'll give it that.
