It was close but Led Zeppelin proved to be dominate. For bands with even scores the band who has more in atleast 3 of 5 catergorys wins.
Live Performance-How well the band performs live.
Musical Talent-How talented the musicians in the band are.
Songs-How many hit songs they have
Consistency-AKA not one hit wonders. Produce quality material often
Random-If they have that song that everyone knows.

This may be the first list I've seen that doesn't have The Beatles at #1. Not even #2! The fact that the 'Jimi Hendrix Experiance' is on the list rather than 'Experience' goes a long way to explaining this phenomena.

If you search lists voted by professional musicians and critics, Beatles are always 1. You´re just a fan, and you voted based on your taste. That´s why this list doesnt mean much. Everyone knows Beatles are 1.

Their compositions and harmonys completely make up for what they lacked in instrumental prowess. Plus, Paul McCartney and George Harrison played quite a few instruments themselves. Then throw in the most creative/talented writing duo in history, and an underated guitarists/song writer, and to top it off their the most influential band of all time, how can you NOT make them #1?

I think this was a very well done list, with the exception of a few mistakes. For example, I think that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is a very under-rated band and that they should be higher. But still, man, props... Best video on this topic I have seen!

Unfortunately i think the 1, beatles(output in short time) should be on top of 2, Pink floyd(most creative and best albums) my fav. With 3, being Led Zep (the entertainers, but not all that original).

I would have put the Beach Boys among the first bands, and of course the Rolling Stones, but that's a quite good list you got here. My personal favourites among the "heavy" ones is Black Sabbath.

i really like the rating system its an interesting way to get fairly accurate results in a top 50 list. i found the ratings of each band fair and accurate which in turn made the entire list accurate. best live band with 97-pink floyd(no dought) ive never been fortunate enough to see them live but ive heard its an experience. most talented with 97- Rush. i may be biased because theyre my favorite band. theyre DEFINITELY talented musicians. Best songs with 75/75-the beatles, yep every songs a hit
