Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli go waaaaay back, all the way to the early 2000s. First officially tagging together in 2004, but they didn't form the Kings of Wrestling until 2005, alongside Arik Cannon. In early 2006, Hero & Castagnoli broke off on their own, and began tagging all across the Indies. By September of 2006, Kings of Wrestling simultaneously held tag team gold in 3 of the biggest Indy companies in the States. CHIKARA's Campeonatos de Parejas, the CZW Tag Team Titles and the ROH World Tag Team Titles. All good things come to an end, and in 2007 the Kings of Wrestling stopped tagging and went their separate ways. That didn't last long though, because by 2008, they were tagging intermittently for Pro Wrestling NOAH. They were brought back for NOAH tours in 2009, and 2010. By then, Kings of Wrestling were really getting more traction, and started tagging in ROH again. Kings of Wrestling were once again able to regain the ROH World Tag Team Titles by defeating The Briscoes in April of 2010. They were able to hold the titles for nearly a year, defending them 9 times, before beating dethroned by Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas.
