Old City Hall, the Ontario Legislature, and Victoria College at the University of Toronto are some of Toronto’s finest buildings. The Richardsonian Romanesque style is named after the 19th century American architect Henry Hobson Richardson. This episode delves into the architectural history of Old City Hall including architect E. J. Lennox’s struggle to build it and the fight to save it from the wrecking ball in 1970’s, spearheaded by Friends of Old City Hall.
