That's the whole point. Charlie's death threw him over the edge. And this was the result. Without it, it would have been for nothing. You don't release a monster for it to play the good guy. Otherwise there was never a reason to have kept it caged.

Angels just got progressively weaker over the show. At the start they were basically invincible, could only be banished or killed by other angels. Before the whole alternative universe part they could easily be overpowered in a regular fight and had zero powers. I think even most of their wings were broken from Metatron?

I think the fall took most of their powers, they used their grace and heaven essentially 'refilled' them. So when they fell and heaven was closed to them they had no way of refilling list grace

tbh the Winchester's are like Shaggy, but like, different limiter. Hear me out. Shaggy has Olympic athlete levels of strength, speed, agility, etc, but the reason he doesn't use it is because he's too cowardly. D&S are like that, but they're already badasses, so when they cut loose because they don't give a shit, they crank up the heat by 1000% instead of 200%
