1) National Museum of Qatar: 0:16
The National Museum of Qatar tells the story of Qatar and its people from earliest times to the current today. The museum has an area of over 400,000 sq.ft and it's architecture draws inspiration from the naturally occurring crystal formations known as the desert rose. The ticket price for an adult is 50 QAR and free for children under the age of 16 years. This is the pearl carpet of Baroda, commissioned by the Maharajah of Baroda, India in 1865. It comprises of over 1.5 million pearls, as well as diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires set in gold and woven onto a base of silk.
2) The Pearl and Qanat Quartier: 1:14
The Pearl Island in Doha, is an artificial island with an area of nearly four square kms. It is considered an iconic site which has everything from residences to restaurants and is Doha's fastest growing community. This visionary project accommodates an estimated 25,000 residences and currently has over of 50,000 residents. Qanat Quartier is the Venetian Quarter of The Pearl Qatar. This area of The Pearl is known for its colourful architecture and vibrant surroundings inspired by the city of Venice with its picturesque views, beaches and canals. From here, we can get a good view of the iconic Raffles hotel.
3) Katara Cultural Village: 2:32
Katara is Doha’s go-to destination for art, culture and cuisine. Some of the main things to see here are the amphitheatre, turkish mosque, 21 high street and few other things. Accommodating up to 5000 spectators, the amphitheatre provides stellar views of the sea on one side and the cultural village on the other. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go inside since they were preparing for an event. Apart from these there are art galleries, a planetarium and some beach activities.
4) Museum of Islamic Art: 4:00
The Museum of Islamic Art has masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century. The museum contains four floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions, a gift shop and a café. There's also a viewpoint where we get breathtaking views of the city's skyline. The ticket price for an adult is 50 QAR and free for children under the age of 16 years.
5) Mina District: 5:27
The Mina district has been completely transformed into a vibrant tourist attraction which once used to be the old Doha Port. This whole district is a great spot for photography lovers. There's also a fish market which is very different from a typical fish market. This place is also good for food lovers since there are many restaurants and cafes.
6) Souq Waqif: 6:12
Souq Waqif is a marketplace in Doha which sells traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. It is also has some restaurants where we can dine.
7) Malls: 6:34
Some of the popular malls in Doha are Vendome mall, Villaggio mall and Mall of Qatar.
8) Raffles: 7:26
While you're in Doha, don't miss visiting the iconic Raffles Hotel. The hotel lobby is mesmerizing and unlike any other. We visited Acoustic for a drink which is a rooftop bar located on the top floor of the hotel.
